It always shocks me how people are surprised by that. Deadpool’s comics were notoriously gorey and full of dark humor. He can’t fit into the Disney MCU seemlessly. Disney created a PG universe. Marvel is hardcore, to the point you feel sick. Rape, Murder, Human trafficking, torture, etc. Deadpool was essentially the first to do it right, with the exception of Blade.

Ryan Reynolds first became aware of Deadpool because a producer friend told him after seeing the film Blade Trinity that if they ever make a Deadpool movie he would be perfect to play him. Ryan confessed that he had never heard of Deadpool before, so the producer mailed him some Deadpool comics. When he was reading the comics there is a scene in one issue where he is walking down the street and an old woman asks Deadpool what he looks like under the mask, he then says “ I look like a cross between Ryan Reynolds and a Shar-Pei”. Regarding Kristen's comment about Deadpool looking like Spider-Man, that's intentional. Deadpool's comic creator Rob Liefeld even originally pitched the character to Marvel as "He's Spider-Man except with guns and a sword and he's a jackass." Also his use of swords was inspired by the DC villain Deathstroke that Liefeld was also a huge fan of, he even named Deadpool Wade Wilson as an homage to Deathstroke whose real name is Slade Wilson.
@JakkFrost15 ай бұрын
Liefeld officially denies that, though he probably has to for legal copyright reasons.
@Bodyknock5 ай бұрын
@@JakkFrost1 And Deadpool's co-creator has officially said otherwise. "This quote from Fabian Nicieza is pulled from The Classic Marvel Figurine Collection #56, which is an informative magazine published by Eaglemoss Publications. “When Liefeld sent his co-creator his first designs of Deadpool, Nicieza replied “This is Deathstroke from the Teen Titans.”” Not to mention the VERY obvious similarities in the names and costumes. Liefeld is either denying that the characters themselves are similar (which is true, they have very different personalities) or is just trolling fans. P.S. And let's not forget that when Deadpool (Wade Wilson) was first introduced, it was as a supervillain fighting the New Mutants, the teen mutant superhero comic at the time, and simultaneously Deathstroke (Slade Wilson) was a main supervillain antagonist for the Teen Titans in DC. But I'm sure it's TOTALLY a coincidence, Mr Liefeld! 😉

Deadpool looks the way he does because his body is still growing cancer cells. His mutation causes his good cells to attack the cancerous cells as fast as they form... but his mutant ability also causes the cancer cells to form faster. In truth, his skin should be writhing from the formation and destruction of the cancer cells.

Walter white is a villain.
@x_trio_3_po3335 ай бұрын
@@bharat-dz9wi He has been rightly described as both an "anti-hero" and as a "villain protagonist". The two things are not mutually exclusive. White's antihero side is shown in his willingness to kill other bad guys, especially ones far worse than him, just like John Wick and Deadpool have done. Yet he still wanted to provide for his family despite his son's rejection of him. His Villain side was shown in his unwillingness to help save Jesse's choking gf, Jane Margolis. And his willingness to poison the child of Jesse's new gf. And he also poisoned Lydia and killed Mike. And he covered up of the unintended shooting death of that innocent 14 year old kid on a motorcycle. I think based on his later villainy, that he deserved a far more painful and bloodier ending than he received which is why I was not totally happy with how the show ended. But I think everyone acknowledges White's anti-hero status because they rightly rooted for him every time he took down another major criminal, sometimes in the most creative and ingenious way possible (e.g. the M60 machine gun scene). BTW there's a funny parody of Breaking Bad called "How Breaking Bad Should End - Key of Awesome #77!" kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWLLqXSVg9GZars

@@x_trio_3_po333 The reason we sympathize with him is because we are emotionally invested at that point in the later seasons. But walter white is a villain pretty much. He has pride and ego. An anti-hero as rightly said doesn't kill innocents yet he lead to the death of countless innocents. Got jesse captured and tortured, he got hank killed and very much hated hank. Whatever walter did was for himself as rightly stated in the end. He got Gail killed by manipulating jesse. How is he a anti- hero in any sense. He clearly is a villain. Jesse went through hell because of walter. Again my point stand we sympathize with walt because. His wife doesn't have sex with him, hank undermines his manhood, his teaching job sucks, his son doesn't respect him, he has no control over his life literally because of cancer. We can see the how bad his life is and want better for him.
@x_trio_3_po3335 ай бұрын
@@bharat-dz9wi If an anti-hero "doesn't kill innocents", then neither Dead pool nor John Wick can be called anti-heroes. Because in the opening battle scene in DP 1 on the freeway, Dead pool recklessly endangered the lives of numerous innocent car drivers, many of whom were also likely killed in car crashes. And potentially he could have also accidentally killed his girlfriend if she had been on the freeway on that day. Not to mention any innocent civilians walking nearby that facility that had exploded when he tried to escape from there. Ditto with John Wick who engaged in a public gun battle in the Red Circle club, numerous innocent club goers could have been easily killed by stray gunfire. Walter White was an anti-hero because he was a cancer patient and a family man, and he also killed more dangerous criminals than himself, and that is why we sympathized with him. And also is why he is rightly classified as an anti-hero, in addition to being a villain protagonist as a result of his breaking bad, i.e. his moral descent into the criminal underworld. The obvious dual tension of being both an anti-hero and a villain was what made his character so appealing to millions of viewers. So they could see how this moral tension would ultimately resolve itself. I think they did a pretty good job over all. But to write off Walter White as merely and only a "villain" is simplistic at best, and misleading at worst as it denies the various nuances of his real character.

A major shot in the arm for the Superhero genre. The X-Men film franchise at an whole new level while toe to toe with the MCU. This character's comic debut was in 1990 as an villain, long before he was an anti-hero. Adaptating DP into a movie lasted over a decade with Reynolds fully committed to it in every aspect. It's also the directorial film debut of Tim Mlller, best known as an animator. Most say that the events for Days of Futurepast was part of the alterations to having the character done right or it's just standalone from X-Men origins:Wolverine. This film is brilliant and has everything it deserves. A great story with clusters of creativity. The supporting characters (ally or villain) are not too comic-booky neither. Even without the flashy stuff, the movie still feels strong enough to be entertaining. Ryan Reynolds' most celebrated role ever, in front of or behind the camera as writer/producer. This needed to be Rated-R to shake things up and away from the goody-good stuff. There is no 4th wall-breaking if it's not done by the "Merc with a Mouth" himself. Reynolds hams it up to the fullest. Poking fun at just about everyone and everybody. Pop culture is not off limits, neither is this franchise or other films in the genre (absolutely). Out of the many superhero films in 2016, Deadpool is among the most brilliant. Highest-grossing Rated-R film ever and winning 15 awards. You think this one is great, wait till you watch DP2.

Deadpool's blind friend is played by actress Leslie Uggams. She also played a key character ("Kizzy") in one of film and TV history's iconic mini-series titled, "Roots" (1977), named after the famed novel of the same name written by Alex Haley. It's an epic story telling the history of an African man, Kunta Kinte (plays by Levar Burton/John Amos) who was captured by western slavers. The series is a generational story that follows his family's journey of traversing slavery in America. Kizzy was Kunta Kinte's daughter that he fathered with his wife, another enslaved person named Bell (Played by late actress, Madge Sinclair, who also played the mother in Eddie Murphy's iconic film, "Coming to America").

"He's like a bad guy version of spider-man" Funnily enough that was ONE of the original parts of his creation. The costume being slightly similar and his wise cracking during fights, was inspired by Spider-man, and he was originally a bad guy before becoming more of an anti-hero. There are other elements also originally copied from other sources. Though Liefeld gets credit for creating Deadpool, most of the elements that make him popular were brought to the character by others. But the Merc with a mouth part does go back to his introduction.
