Haha, joke is on all of you. The Way of Kings was the first Sanderson book I read. And interestingly enough, going backward I wasn't as crazy about Mistborn but I really enjoyed Elantris. Anyone else in the same boat?
@rextitan2 ай бұрын
Not an identical story to you, but I read warbreaker, then final empire, then halfway through well of ascension I read frugal wizard then finished well, then read sunlit man, then read hero of ages, then read tress. Frugal wizard, sunlit man and warbreaker are all books I’d put above the mistborn books, which is kind of funny considering sunlit man wasn’t really “for” me as a person who’s not read stormlight. Something about those stories though was much easier to connect to for me, from the get go I was in. Mistborn I enjoyed, but it’s not stuck with me nearly as much.

Elantris was his first book so that isn't too surprising. I don't like book 2 of mistborn so I understand that. Honestly storm light is his magnum opus so it makes sense that ticks up higher. I personally love warbreaker as it has less world ending stakes and a very interesting world.

Also, I want to be excited about Onyx Storm. I read Fourth Wing and I own Iron Flame (but haven't read it yet) and I have to ask: does it get better? Fourth Wing really had me going for the first half of the book, then it seemed like it devolved into a teenage wet dream. (I've read and enjoyed the ACOTAR series, so I don't have a problem with smut or heavy romance, just FYI). I did almost "YEET" my copy across the room when I read the protagonist say the phrase "FOR THE WIN" because outdated internet slang in fantasy is possibly the worst thing ever in my book.
