Timing with footwork matters too. You can’t feel comfortable throwing if you don’t know how to walk up properly on the release.

Just looking at the thumbnail, I already know Kyle Troup is the video on top. His bowling attires are just too stylish! It's awesome!

Everyone asking how it makes a difference and which is right …. Y’all missing the real important key here it’s not the elbow but look at the wrist position and that’s what makes a difference. Belmo, by allowing his elbow to bend can keep his wrist in a straighter position so there’s less movement near the ball when it comes to finish whereas Kyle has his wrist bent to make up for the elbow so as he gets into release position he’s gonna straighten his wrist somewhat which is less consistent as you’re still applying movement right near the ball even through the release Lmk what y’all think and if you agree

Awesome explanation!
@daikaji38333 ай бұрын
I’m a noob, but I imagine the con of the bent elbow then, is that it requires more of your own physical strength to follow through… as opposed to letting gravity do almost all the work with a straight elbow. Agree or disagree?
@taostealth2 ай бұрын
I think Belmo's bent elbow release might generate more power and might be a lil bit less twisty than Kyle's style

What does bending the elbow on the backswing do for the form? Does it help?
@BowlismOutlaw2 жыл бұрын
It's just an instinct and habit of each bowler bro. The goal is to coil the ball and put hand under the ball for better release and high rev.
@dylanh64782 жыл бұрын
Bending the elbow helps with ball speed slightly. Even though you should be using your legs to generate speed it’s another little thing that can help

That kind of why Kyle groups rev rate is a good 50 lower then belmos
@dougbarnes753 Жыл бұрын
That's not at all true. Both Matt Ogle and Jesper Svensson bowl fully straight armed and have at least as much rev as Belmo (or more in Jesper's case). I find that when I bend the elbow like belmo the force the ball puts on my bicep tendon as the arm straigtens at the bottom for release is very uncomfortable. I've definitely started trying to keep my arms/shoulders more like Troup.
@BowlismOutlaw Жыл бұрын
I think the straight arm technique depends on the body anatomy of each bowler. For me if I try to straighten my arm during the release, my 2 hands will split out and make it difficult to stay under the ball.
