I got stopped for speeding by a state Trooper on my way to work a few years ago. It was a beautiful sunny summer morning and I was doing 80 in a 60 mph zone. When the trooper approached the car he stated I have to inform you that you are being video and audio taped. I responded "oh great how do I look?" I got a chuckle out of him. He asked if I knew why I was being stopped I said because I was speeding. He ran my information came back handed me my license and registration and said " have a good morning sir try to keep it at 60" . Being nice and honest with the cop is the only way to be. They hold the power and your fate.

So many of these videos of the cops stopping and arresting people for "apparently no reason" is because most of them don't follow what they say and don't answer the questions given to them. Sometimes it's true police officers treat you like you treat them. But sadly not always. In most jurisdictions today every stop and conversation after is memorialized on Cam footage if you feel you were disrespected or treated unfairly ask for a copy of the stop and take it to court with you. In my city it's against regulation for any request be reported anywhere by the civilian board that process the requests. If your city doesn't have this policy go to your Council or Committee and ask them to implement this fair/fact procedure.

Lets be honest. The judge should have instantly dismissed this and waived all costs if he knew that the officer had falsified the speeding tickets recorded infraction if even in favour of the defendant. The officer should be brought up on separate charges of falsifying evidence especially given it was presented in a court of law and dealt with accordingly. This kind of rule breaking could swing the other way with the same officer if he stops someone bolshy he could stick an extra 10 mph on the ticket to have them banned which is not what the law, the police or the court should be entertaining.
