Catherine PLEASE be careful! Im a farm girl and in my mid 40s. I lifted a gate a couple months back on my dads ranch, keep in mind Ive lifted this gate probably 500 times in my life. That time i felt a pop and had a sharp pain in my bellybutton and low and behold i had caused an umbilical hernia. 😢 Get you a back and belly brace. Great job Catherine. You really do work hard. It does help to have such amazing friends like Brooke and Jason. Love to see homesteaders that utilise second hand items. It isnt cheap to run a farm so every penny saved is important. Something I love about Brooke is her saving things to be used later. She also loves a bargain which makes her a girl after my own heart. I think most of my stuff is second hand. Just got some drawers that looked ok on face book. Turns out they are much better and I am going to upcycle them to a bedroom. Hate modern furniture for sure. These were free so even better lol. xxxx

I’m sure the hay feeder be fixed for what you need. Perhaps after Brooke goes to the welding class she is talking about a repair can be done if needed. What about putting metal zip tying wire fencing around the feeder… I’m not sure if it comes in rolls any longer we used to call it hog fencing. It has larger holes but goats would only be able to get their noses in. Just a thought. Have a great day!

You might could use a cattle panel cut in half inside the hay ring to keep the goats from climbing in & getting on the hay or use some fencing wire to go around the outside of it. Just some thought to help protect the hay from being wasted. So thankful that you & Brooke are great friends

You can also pull the hay ring over up on its side, then set your round bale, then put the ring over the top. You can still use the tractor doing this as well. 😊 But I'm sure you already knew that. 😉😁
