That QR Code/Playlist thing in that book is one if the most genius things I've ever heard! I hope that becomes a more popular or common thing to do in books. It's interactive and just really cool! ❤

As a girl from West Virginia, I am really wanting to read The Yule Lord too. I adore Brom. I have read Slewfoot and Lost Gods. Both amazing. Monongahela National Forest, which was featured at the end of Slewfoot is actually a place I visit all the time because I have family that lives there. That was an unexpected treat. So now every time I drive through it I think of the book, and it makes the area even more special. Also, I appreciate your style and personality very much. Thank you!

I'm jealous of you finding Under The Whispering Door secondhand! I've got a copy myself, I'm excited to read it but I've fallen into the trap of waiting for the perfect moment. Also, you gifting the same book as your friend is one of the cutest things ever

I found Under The Whispering Door right after I lost my mother figure in my life & oh my gosh it was beautiful. I cried & it’s almost a beautiful telling of how death happens. A bit of difference in acceptance to the afterlife 🫶

If you enjoy Rebecca Ross's writing, I really suggest reading Dreams Lie Beneath. It isn't as popular as her other books, but it's an amazing standalone nonetheless!

I think you should read The Paris Apartment. Again, the characters arent good people really BUT it is super interesting from the beginning and imo it was harder to guess the person who "did it" then when I was reading The Hunting Party or The Guest List. I think Paris Apartment had more twists then Foley's other thrillers while having the exact same vibes as Guest List. I cannot believe more people dont like it😭 its a slowburn, but I thought it was great if you liked her other thrillers.

The translation of in een donker donker bos in Afrikaans translates to in one dark dark bush 😂 because we don’t generally use “bos” interchangeably with “woud” unless it’s for the rhythm and there’s no other word for “bush” specifically. And also because of the natural landscape where we refer to woodlands as bosveld and shorten it to bos which is distinguished drastically from our foresty areas. Lol I found that very interesting 😂
@leoraaileen7 ай бұрын
That’s so fun to hear!!! I love linguistics. In Dutch “bos” is the most used word for forest or woods, although “woud” means the woods too, but we don’t say that a lot. A bush is a “struik” :) so def interesting hahah thank you for sharing 💞

I didn’t like Under The Whispering Door as much as The House in the Cerulean Sea, the beginning made me laugh a lot but the rest of the book just isn’t what I expected based on the synopsis. I thought the character got the chance to live as much life as possible before crossing to the other side but that’s just not what happens and I was more interested in what I thought it would be 😬 but it was definitely cozy and I hope you like it!
