Good to see you back. I look forward to these vids. I'm considering picking up that same rod. Can it throw the full range? I need something that can throw 1 oz but also something that can throw 4 oz when the rough weather sets in.
@jamesschlickoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I feel this rod can definitely handle the full range of plugs. I've thrown 3/4oz up to 3oz with it so far and it handles them great. Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoy the videos!

Great video! It looks like your retrieve speed on the buck tail is on the faster side. Is that right or just the way the video looks? Also, still being on the novice side any tips for negotiating snaring up on rocks on either the north or south side when fishing rocks? I must have sacrificed $75 worth of the bucktails and Diamond jigs to the water gods last time out I was fishing out there. Hahaha. Again, great share!

Yeah i was retrieving pretty quick. I usually use a 3/4oz bucktail out there since it doesn't sink as fast and snag up but on this day with the winds and bigger surf i needed to throw a heavier bucktail so to keep it from snagging up i was retrieving quicker. I've lost plenty of lures on those rocks out there too, it happens, but my tips are you can try lighter weight lures or even try a faster retrieve like i was doing to keep the lure higher in the water column away from the rocks, also keep your rod tip high to keep your lure from swimming to deep. Good luck and glad you enjoyed the video!
