A massive thanks for all of the lovely comments you have written about the death of Lucy the railway cat.
A grand tour of a large loft model train railway set. A short video showing all of my layout 1,500 feet long, 13 tracks that can run 20 trains at the same time with 102 trucks and 141 coaches all going simultaneously. 86 points with point motors and 22 hand operated points and 4 digital boxes on the top level are needed to run such an operation.
105 buildings and hundreds of trees and animals. There is 3 km of wiring with automated signalling. Thanks for watching, kind regards, Philip

Man after my own heart,refreshing to see you (and I) are happy with railroad locos etc.Dont break as easily as all the lovely but fragile £250 stuff.Still smug with myself at all the A1 ,Patriot ,9f ,Flying Scotsman etc bought for around £55 ten to fifteen years ago.A lot oiled new and boxed ,still. Not to mention when Hornby updated B.R mk1 coaches,must of bought forty of different colours etc,if memory serves £19 ish ,metal wheel versions from Hatttons. Keep railroading ( as Americans would say).

If I need to put my glasses on to see the detail and not have a moving train, then thats too much detail. Like you old stock, but with replacement wheels works just as well.

Whilst on holiday in Santorini, the YT algorithm has just proposed a video of yours, and wow - what a layout! Enjoying your trains is the most important thing. The detail looks fine to me. Hi Philip, I got a shock as to how much there is in your layout, very nice to see some more. Masses of work in those Metcalfe kits - a whole shops worth? I am all for running what you like, always nice to know the history, but as the years go by who can truly can remember. Deltic just been run in then , ha ha! All the best Stephen

It only started as a single small loop for the children and some how took over. Its annoying when I forget things. I am not as sharp as I used to be. I have to look on the internet to remember the types of locos all of the time. Kind regards, Philip

Most of the stock has been given to me or is second hand. It is the only way I could afford it. You know that you should expand. I started off with a single small loop. By any chance do you live near me? I live in Hawkhurst. Philip

I have an over taking siding in which the slow train pulls into to let the express go past and a bypass loop to a station which the power can be cut off whilst the train stops, This is with a single DC controller. It can get frantic as the one controller controls 3 trains at the same time.

I just built it how I thought it should, made a few mistake on the way. I started off with a single loop, which went into 2 and before O knew it ,1,500 feet of track.

I would just build as large base board as possible, with the options of being able to build other layers. I would start off with DC first and if you want to go to DCC, unless of course DCC is what you want. ( if you see what I mean). Putting down track is the best part. Buy flexi track. Cheapest per yard ans can do curves

Search for this peco sl-100 - streamline 00 gauge flexible track

Solid 3rd radius curves are easier to put down but more expensive.
