It is amazing how you dominate the redstone, Maizuma. The hardest things you make a video and with a super simplified gadget achieved the goal. I doubt who has taught you about redstone, why you dominate comparators very well, I feel that all the items regarding redstone are not completely used in mechanisms or systems, undoubtedly your subscribers are not equal to your quality of redstoner, only you I mean that you were one of the most important redstoners, and you are, for me also c:

I remember a design (albeit years and years back) where the 3x3 in the middle was open so you would be able to have a beacon beam shining the middle. This proved usefull for areas that you would use for mining resources when having Haste II activated on the beacon. You could basically stack multiple intersection on top of each other in a vertical 11x11 shaft to make levels. You could call it strip mining on a larger/advanced scale ? And then having 2 or 4 item elevators on each corner of a level to get your stuff up to the surface and transport into chests (storage room).
@csx58823 жыл бұрын
So the map I built in 2018 has the same look from the top, but is powered by a spaghettis of Redstone wiring. But I set mine up without stopping and only has 3 options Left Forward and right, as the player approaches, the detector rail will fire a signal that would send the player straight by default but a circuit also has 2 inputs to change the direction left or right. The player will simply look at a trapdoor on the respected side of choice while holding right click, an observer will take the input and feed it into the system, never stopping the minecart. I'm aware that you don't need to know this, but overall, I'm mainly impressed how small this is compared to mine :D also you have it all automated now so that's awesomerrr.

@bitebaykon99482 ай бұрын
Excellent compact design. Can confirm it works on left track (British version). Would also make a suggestion. Although it makes the build bigger, it can be enhanced by removing the buttons, make the track completely flat then with a fence gate, observer and a pulse extender you can make this work from a minecart 'on the move' without having to stop to press a button.

Something you could do to stop the minecart would be to build the rails up one block, so that you come down into the intersection and have a better vantage point to see everything. That will also have the player stopped on an inclined rail to restart the minecart. Also, having colored buttons along with colored walls/indicators above each rail line could maybe be clearer. You could also (for large multiplayer servers) use fence gate queues (very ugly tho tbh) to make sure only one player is in the roundabout at a time.
@MaizumaGames4 жыл бұрын
The fences would definitely work but as you mentioned, it breaks aesthetics. Making the minecart drop as you suggest would certainly give the player a better UI view but faces the same problems I mentioned where stopping the minecart is not easy to standardize.

a idea i was trying myself long time ago: instead of redstone signal for choose where to go why not item filters+minecart chest with a item of the station´s name where to go to aswell as a item of the station´s name where the minecart chest+normal minecart came from (so it can restock on minecarts+item of station name where to go to again so a station dont run out of them) that do need some minecart tricks like either having a complete different set of tracks for minecart chest and passenger minecart or do some trick so they can run next to each other like a "train" but with that Item with a minecart chest + item filters on each intersection you can store the info where to go to from anywhere without needing redstone signals between intersections
@MaizumaGames4 жыл бұрын
I considered something similar :-] You might be interested in some of my previous videos about Minecart systems: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJSaaX2LmNatbMk

Okay; I'm a little late, but do you have any videos where this signal strength is explained even more detailed? I don't get the mechanism - at least not completely - and wanted to apply this 4 way crossing on a slightly different, and more complexe crossing of mine. But I can't simply figure out how. In my case I need 2 crossings. E.g. from both, west and east, there is one railway for both directions. So there is one coming from west going east, the other from east going south. But then here's my problem - there are two rails coming from south going north, and two rails the other way around. For the picture, B= Block/Space, N = rail going north and S=rail going south: S1 B (S2) B B B B B B B (N2) B N1 - the rails in brackets have to go north/south strictly without turning left or right (could be solved by elevating those two lines, but that'd be not as aesthetic) And at the point where they're crossing the two east west connections I need them to decide whether to to go right, straight forward or turn left (dont need a return button like in your example). Do you reckon there is even a possible AND aesthetic solution or am I too demanding? :D

Hey I found this design recently and oh my god you did such a good job with this! My friends and I are working on a huge subway system in our SMP and have adapted this design a bit to collect items from a chest minecart and take you where it goes corresponding to the item. One thing though which I have been trying to do but can't so far is change the intersection so that it uses the left side of the road travelling instead of the right but couldn't work it out. I doubt you'll ever see this but if you could just tell/show me how I could make it use the left side of the road travel then that would be so greatly appreciated. I am from New Zealand and we drive on the left hand side of the road. I would just use the right side of the road travelling for our minecart system now due to this design being for the right side but doing that would mean having to tear up the whole track and it's thousands of blocks long. If you read this then thank you so much for taking the time to! I love what you do here and you've earnt my sub.
@MaizumaGames Жыл бұрын
I knew you would come. I knew one day, someone driving at the wrong side of the road would need this build to be adapted. Joking :-D Normally it would be just a matter of mirroring the build but the directions on rail turning are fixed so the redstone also has to adapt. Minecarts with chests for destination is a nice idea. I'll probably update it and make a version that takes advantage of the same mechanic in the near future. You can join us on the Discord for projects like this in the future.

Wouldn't it be better if the minecart always went straight on default but had to be given a signal to choose the other ways? This would make the programming of routes easyer.
@MaizumaGames4 жыл бұрын
The open loop kind of does this already, but assuming default directions for the players can cause some high level problems. I'm still trying to figure it out, feedback is welcome :-]

Hey Cass, it's been a while I havn't tested one of your contraption for XB 360. This one works good with a little tweak because if we place torche inside, they interact with the comparator from the barrel (chest form me) So I put the torch outside but It take the place of the hopper, so I've push the hopper one block further and add a comparator. Finally wotks great and arrive when I start to place some rail on my world, so it's on point ! :)
