The room looks great! I've been planning to do Cherry or Red Oak columns and trim like my old theater but lately I've been thinking that look is dated... unless you do it up like Youthman in which case it looks amazing. Problem is, despite having the CNC and other tools I just don't have the talent to do anything like what Youthman has. Now I'm thinking using fabrics and paint might make for a more modern look and be easier for me to accomplish. I just have to figure out colors and exactly how to go about doing it. I need to figure it out soon because if all goes well I will be flying back to the states this weekend and have about a week or a little more to work on it. May not have another chance for weeks or months. I'm hoping to make good progress on building the side speakers while there and these will also be the decorative columns for the sides. As for hearing other rooms, you are welcome to come to Texas and hear mine if I ever get it finished.

I would highly recommend a fully black front wall surrounding your screen so that it just disappears when you're watching a movie... But that's just me. And I don't plan on ever going to TX, but thanks for the invite! Lol

Also, good luck with your room man! And have you watched any of my other videos where I show the process of remodeling my front wall?
@mfkhometheater77422 жыл бұрын
@@TerminatorJuice Yeah, I like watching your videos. My front wall and ceiling are flat black, very black, I don't know where the painter found it but I bought several gallons from B&H of some really black stuff thinking that the home builders painter would use regular Home Depot or Lowes level black but whatever they used was just as black as the B&H stuff. I'll post an update on my channel once I get some progress done. Then maybe request suggestions on colors, maybe everyone will think my blue-ish gray walls look like crap, if so I guess I can change it. I've changed everything else on this project as I've gone along. Seems like every update I say I'm going to do something a certain way and then change my mind. My last update the side speakers were going to be inverted ground plane CBT using the ceiling as the ground plane but that would cause the side speaker height to change with seating row so now I'm going full CBT and will keep the height constant relative to the seating row. I think that will work better, every row will get the same side surround experience. Anyway, if you check my channel in a couple weeks hopefully I will have an update posted with side speakers at least in progress.

You can try putting those svs subs right behind your couch for some tactile bass. this will take your HT to the next level when you can actually feel the vibrations from the action happening on the big screen :) Only way to achieve it is by having near field subwoofers or with transducers mounted to the seats

I'm in Michigan. My room's not finished yet. What sort of fabric did you use for your wall?
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
For the front wall I used Black Utility Speaker cloth from Joann's fabric.
