A Great First E-Bike | DYU C6 First Impressions

So funny that you have been collared for E-Bike testing now JB. It does look a lovely bike and to be honest this video would actually tempt me to get back on 2 wheels again. I had an unpleasant bike accident about 20 years ago and I lost my confidence after that. My rather lovely bike has languished in the garage ever since then and have toyed with an e bike but as an unfit rider who is 20 years older now, I have wondered about the heaviness of the E-bikes. That and the cost of them. My sister has one and the heaviness is what she finds the biggest issue with it maneuvering it around etc. But am tempted by the price and look of this one for sure.

Really sorry to hear that Dawn... It is worth noting that technically speaking this one isn't road legal for the UK. Worth looking at the rules and regs, they're limited to 250w and you're not allowed to have a throttle only which will allow more than 4mph. The rules are called the EPAC rules. For the UK you're basically only allowed a light pedal assist. There are thousands of bikes which don't meet these though currently on the road and honestly if you don't take the mick with it I'm sure it's fine. If you're riding a suped up thing which can do 40mph then maybe you might raise attention... I think you can definitely get lighter ebikes too. The weight of this one is the solid steel frame. The battery is about 3kgs and the motor probably adds a few more kg but I'm sure there are lightweight framed ebikes out there.
