Nice little "tea machine" 😄My hands don't hurt when they get cold, but it does feel like they stay cold for longer than I want. I'm more of a coffee person, but I agree that it is nice to warm the hands on a warm cup of tea/coffee! Oh, go Sweden selling those towers! 💪Haha secret seed box! And thanks fro the garlic reminder. Got one from the store and figured I'd give it a go, but I haven't gotten around to planting mine either 😊

Your swelling hands when you touch cold things is probably some sort of auto immune issue. Some people even break out in hives if they go from hot to cold or cold to hot too quickly.

Might seem like a silly question but how safe is it to use cardboard in the soil? Does the ink that is used to print things on the cardboard cause contamination? Thanks. I'm realy enjoying your videos and we just got the key to our first allotment.
@JBNat12 сағат бұрын
@@gavinjackguitar3482 99% of inks these days will be plant based and fine (I had a friend who worked in the print industry for a while and confirmed it). The bigger issue is with PFAS or 'forever chemicals' - but these aren't found in general cardboard, it's more grease proof things like pizza boxes which might have them.
@gavinjackguitar34828 сағат бұрын
@@JBNat Thanks! That's good to know. I'll probably dig to start with so I can see what's in the soil, then try some no dig once I get things going. Cheers

Exactly what I have in my shed and it stays there all year round
@juliehartley3652Күн бұрын
Yes having a kettle in your shed is the ultimate allotment luxury, it's great isn't it? In my shed I have a nail to hang my long handled tools so that when I am leaving the allotment I can check I have put them all back in their place - I find it works for me because usually I am not the tidiest person. Without that little system things would be all over the place. It may not work for you because you probably have many more tools than I do. Also I think you look happier - so don't put yourself under pressure to release videos - just do them when you feel like it. Your audience will still be here. Hope you had a great Christmas. 😊

Hi JB. Love watching your videos. 😅 You are just a big kid with pressies 😅. Love it. Re lighting your shed, might be an idea to paint interior white. My daughter painted exterior of her shed pale green, looked good. Also, I would suggest a folding picnic table instead of that decorating table, they tend to become unstable, won't take too much weight. Your excitement is catching, I must clean out my greenhouse. Those Quadgrows look interesting, could be an improvement on my grobag. Hope you enjoyed Christmas. Looking forward to next year. Happy growing.❤🎉

I echo the no lock idea personally, locked shed says something worth stealing !...and they bolt cutter/ force them off . I went through 4 expensive locks for this lesson and have had nothing stolen since doing without !

Thanks for a brilliant video JB, you've really got your garden mojo back in this one! Thanks also for showing off your GreenStalk and adding our links, I've already shared it with people on my groups. Hope you and Jess have a fabulous Christmas and New Year, and hope Father Christmas brings you a hip flask - a tot of whiskey in those shed-made brews will go down a treat in this weather 🥃☕🎄🎁🌻

Hi JB, we have had the very same camping stove for quite a few years, and we would be lost without it. Get yourself a cheap frying pan & small pan. Love watching Jessie cooking lunch for her and her mum, too. it's just great. Eli & Kate, another KZbin channel i follow, have fot those too, and they are brilliant! Lovely plot tour, lots of plans for your next season, too. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊

theres so many people with framed beds rather than raised beds . i think its all down to it seeming like a good idea til you realise the cost of filling them. my huge raised beds frame is rotten... roof trusses of my fav pub thats now flats . irreplaceable i,m thinking.

no offence but you,d not catch me moving compost from one bag to another in another location, only to need to move it again to a final destination. if at all possible not to. your going yo end up like popeye with big muscles . but your allotment will look great . good work

Perhaps you should just set up your camera on a tripod while working and then edit and talk over the edited film, that way you can speed bits up or cut bits as you think fit.

I don’t like dalek composters, I’ve cut mine in half to use for raised carrot beds. Pallet bays definitely make much better compost quicker.

It’s brilliant being able to make a fresh coffee. I totally agree with the lock on the shed. I don’t lock mine. If it’s broken into they will make more damage if it’s locked. Plus a lock just screams value. Great update

Iv'e seen the greenstalk planter on Ivan's caravan container growing. They look pretty neat. He has grown so much produce in it since starting it up this year. I can't remember now how much compost he said it took, but it was a lot. Exciting having lots of new prezzies to open. fabulous! Wishing you & jess a merry Christmas and a happy new Year. Happy growing 🙂

Funny, you reminded me today of when I worked at grocery store years ago. At that time the meat was still cut and wrapped in the meat department at the store and I remember the Cutters (usually men) and Wrappers (usually women) all had very large puffy hands working in the refrigerated cold all day with no gloves. It must be a thing!?! Happy 2025 to you and the subscribers here.
