I think there's a slight error when trying to apply the numbers. 0.7 / 0.5 > 0.8. Looks like you forgot to deduct log 2 in the numerator.

That's right. He failed to show subtracting log 2 on the denominator. (Log 5 - log 2)/ log 3 = (0.699 - .301) / 0.477 = 0.398/0.477= 0.834 Do you agree?

@@words44 Yes. The correct answer is 0.834 to three decimal places. And don't waste 3 minutes at the beginning.

For me the first 3 minutes of this video were a complete waste of time. If 3^x + 3^x = 5, then obviously 3^x = 5/2. Now you can take the log of both sides.
