LOL I was just looking at this watch! Love the color combo! The blue gold combo and textured face is superbly handled! I know this style of watch is basically been done to death but I never grown tired of it! The fact that Octon gave it a splash of uniqueness without being aggressively over styled is a plus in my book! Think this is definite near future purchase! Great video as always! Thank you!!!

I‘ve got the exact same model as a favorite in my collection and I agree with everything you said. I wanted to add that you can get these already fairly priced watches with significant discounts when you preorder them. The Octon team was also very friendly and helpful when I contacted them.

I find bezels need to be unique for the style of watch. Sure, ceramic can look nice and shiny. But I find the matte look on aluminum bezels are highly underrated. Love the aluminum on my Kamasu...

nice review and you hit some good points. esp the lume. i originally got one with really cool blue lume, but was shocked at how little brightness it put out. an email to Octon was super quickly & graciously answered to send it back & they'd replace it with a watch with white lume, which is much brighter in the dark. i quickly learned it wasn't just Octon, but if you like bright lume, get the white. otherwise, just about every microbrand has the NH35 which i've come to love, but i was ecstatic seeing Octon offer both the incredible Miyota 9000 series (every bit as good as Swiss higher beat movements) at the time i purchased (a year ago) at a superb price. right now the 9000 is scarce on the site, but i got mine & it's super accurate with that wonderful sweep. my handset is the snowflake with a milgauss seconds hand (vera kewL)...so obviously i don't mind the derivative nature of this look, which is basically the main watch they make albeit with various color & strap combos as you point out. i was looking for a Tudor/older milsub style when i got this, and then cooled to that a bit so haven't worn it much since i got it...but recently put it on again and am once more impressed with everything about this piece. as you do, i love the alum bezel, but am esp thankful they didn't forego a lume pip, which sadly most other brands kill when they do an alum bezel. speaking of the bezel, it is a 10+ in terms of alignment and no backplay, and pleasure to operate. everything is super great basically, but when you add the price these guys offer on all levels (Swiss, Miyota or NH35), it's a steal as long as one likes the retro Tudor look...and who doesn't ;)

I enjoy my Octon watches. Agreed, the design may be safe (or boring) to some, but that also gives it a utility that allows the style to age well. The quality has been great and I found they wear very well even on my smaller wrist. Presence without wrist fatigue. The watches look pretty much the same as when I purchased them. Two other mentions: customer service was/is outstanding and shipping to the States was really quick. Dave, thank you for the review. Your macro and camera work is always a bonus.

Looks fine. That's something i kind of miss (beyond dress watches): divers with a basic design, something i believe marries well with the concept of a diving tool.

I think this is a classy looking piece, probably down to the colour combinations, which I think are superb. Ghost dates don’t bother me, certainly when it’s a robust Seiko movement. It’s nice to see more and more makers putting quick release bracelets on their pieces (will we get Seiko doing it at some point 🤔) and I think the rubber strap really suits it too. All in all, I’d be happy to have this in my collection.

Great watch. Blue guilt is my favourite colour combo. I agree as long as they can take an existing style and make it well means I don't have to spend 5-20 K on a Rolex. Not many people can spot the difference anyway.

I haven't heard of them before, but I took a quick look at their site. For the prices their offering you could probably find some similar watches from more established brands that would be a better value, or you could look at some other microbrands or Chinese brands that would give you the same specs and looks for significantly less. The prices look a little high for the specs, but not outrageous.

Another reviewer likes their free watch shocker. Honestly I’m struggling to think of a ‘paid promotion’ review that is actually saying don’t buy this watch guys there are so many better options out there. Not necessarily a dig at Dave as they all do it and I understand why of course. I’ve just got watch reviewer fatigue - time to take a break perhaps.

Are you ever going to review Christopher Ward watches? Though it may be highly priced for this channel, Ive heard many say they are the best value with all of the features of higher end pieces. For someone like me, ive decided to stop collecting affordables and get that instead, as many call it the sweet spot

DO NOT purchase watches from Octon. I recently tried to buy this exact watch after watching this video, and I was thrown into one hell of a situation with the company. Long story short, their customer service is terrible, I didn't hear back from them for over a month about where my order was, and I honestly started to believe that I was scammed out of my money. I'm not sure what has happened over at Octon, but their priorities seem to have changed since this video was made. And from what I've been seeing online, others have had experiences like this too.

Be assured, this watch does not feel or look cheap by any means. The value is outstanding even compared to typical AliExpress brands like San Martin. Sure the Octon is probably made in China too, but with the addition of Swedish quality control and service.
