Mine is to put a Christmas Nativity Scene somewhere in the house. :) We tend to add a few "non-historically acurate" figures to brigthen-up the general mood. (generally, a small electric train carrying lamb etc...)

Stunning takes, capturing😊 the Greek Christmas tradition. The Village and the House are "out of this dull world". The little "kalikantzaraki" is so cute (and naughty 🥰). Takes are "perfectly laconic", as they capture the spirit with thousand colours, words and emotions, without idle chitchat. Background music is well chosen. Narration is easy to follow, comprehend and enjoy, yet precise and revealing. Congratulations are in order on a job extremely well done👏👏👏👏 Kala Christougenna.🥰

Κάτι σαν όνειρο. Αυτές οι σκέψεις περνούν απ' το μυαλό μου καθώς παρακολουθώ με κατάνυξη την γλυκιά Χριστουγεννιάτικη ιστορία σου. Επίτρεψέ μου μια μικρή διόρθωση στα κάλαντα, αντί «να μπω στ' αρχοντικό σας», το σωστό είναι «να πω» γιατί αναγγέλουμε την χαρμόσυνη είδηση στους άλλους. Καλές Γιορτές, υγεία στην όμορφη οικογένειά σας!

Ευχαριστώ πολύ για αυτήν την διόρθωση! Τόσα χρόνια περνάω από το να τραγουδάω το ένα ή το άλλο και ποτέ δεν ήμουν σίγουρη πιο είναι το σωστό. Επίσης όπως μάλλον θα παρατηρήσατε, χρειάστηκε να κόψω κάποιους στοίχους διότι αλλιώς θα ήταν πολύ μακρόχρονο και φοβόμουν μην κούραζε λίγο τους ξένους. Αλλά θα φτιάξω και ένα βιντεάκι με μόνο τα κάλαντα, όπου και θα διορθώσω αυτό που μου λέτε. 😊

@@AriadnesVillageLife Επειδή οι νεότερες γενιές δεν διδάχτηκαν την καθαρεύουσα (την εκκλησιαστική στην ουσία), κάνουν ορισμένα λάθη χωρίς να ευθύνονται. Τα ορθά λόγια είναι αυτά: «Καλήν εσπέραν άρχοντες αν είναι ορισμός σας, Χριστού την Θεία γέννηση να πω στ' αρχοντικό σας. Χριστός γεννάται σήμερον εν Βηθλεέμ τη πόλει, οι ουρανοί αγάλονται χαίρει η κτήσις όλη. Εν τω σπηλαίω τίκτεται εν φάτνη των αλόγων, ο Βασιλεύς των ουρανών και ποιητής των όλων. Χρόνια Πολλά!»

Actually close! It’s Zochous, slightly different but grows more in the Peloponnese, whereas stamnagathi is more common in Crete. 😊

My Yiayia (grandmother) came to the US from Greece around 1910. When I was young, she made so much wonderful Greek food and pastry. We kids had no idea how lucky we were. While today we travel quickly by air my Yiayia never returned to Greece to see her mother until 1952... by ship both ways. I am 70 years old now. Our generation has largely lost many of the Greek traditions. That is too bad.
