Current electricity costs are being driven up mostly by fuel prices, If we switch to Nuclear power and give greater incentives to buy electric cars (including subsidising and prioritising lithium battery production) this problem will subside substantially over time. Also, many countries are going for the practical short term measures of taxing fossil fuel company profits to discourage extortionate profiteering. Overall though, Society’s rejection of Nuclear power was a massive mistake, and the environment has payed dearly for it as we continue to rely on fossil fuels for our electricity!

This was nauseating to watch. Despite the evidence for climate change, I do not like the dogmatic nature of EcoEye. Some of the innovations are cool and I'm glad to see more consideration been focused on renewables. The 1500 people who have died from contaminated air is debatable. If we were to take it at face value, out of 5.03 million people thats not bad. Thats .029 of a percent of the population.

Ever here of planting a tree or two, the amount of land used all over the world for nothing, where trees could grow, should be covered with trees. Wood its 100% recyclable 100% sustainable and if properly treated can be burnt 100% carbon neutrally and most importantly removes carbon from the air while growing and doesn't require energy to do it. Is there something wrong with us its simple and cheap. Could be thousands of jobs created here with a proper forestry industry. But no lets stick a Euro on a bail of briquets, that will pay off our emotions.

are you sure it can be burnt without producing carbon? trees are literally made of carbon. how do they go about this ?
@philipmcdonagh10942 жыл бұрын
@@EireSaber I mean carbon neutral. When wood is burnt it puts the same amount of carbon into the atmosphere as it took from the atmosphere while growing. So for every three trees you grow burn one or two of them to produce much needed electricity.
