You kept the space over your head where the UBOAT date goes. That is so sweet!

The most important thing when attacking a sub is to stop the engines. Once that happens, they are dead. They may surface and fight it out, which, as you saw, is very bad for the sub, or they may just sink. Don't always use active sonar. Keep your destroyer's speed at 15 kn or less and switch between listening on passive and pinging on active. Passive theoretically has a range of 14 nm (actual range is usually much less), and active has range of only 1 nm, but active will sometimes work when passive won't. For the depth charges, the first slider determines the quantity to be dropped, and the second determines the time between drops (*not* the depth). There is usually no reason to increase the time between drops. When firing on the surface, use fire-at-will or click the fire button on the Main Guns panel.

The primary difference between the Gato class and Tambor class is that the Gato can go about 50 feet deeper (by test depth, which is *not* the same as the crush depth, which is as much as 150 feet deeper). Since they cost the same, and there are many more Gato's available, I only use the Gato class.

Just as a joke, I think hitting the break button is now the topic of all the vids.
