I know this guide is a few years old, but I'm genuinely enjoying it this evening. Last summer, after appreciating Bjørk from afar for years, I suddenly became a super fan. I bought most of her catalog and took it with me on a week-long camping trip. Listening while driving down lonely forested two-tracks in Michigan was the perfect way to immerse in her work.

I'm so glad that you're showing biophilia some love! It might actually be my favorite björk record alongside vespertine. They both give me that warm, peaceful feeling. I especially love the slower tracks like moon and cosmogony!

Thunderbolt Biophilia is a fantastic album. Sure it's a bit more experimental and takes a couple of listens to fully digest but it's worth it. It was brilliantly crafted and had such an interestingly unique soundscape. I love the slower cuts as well. Virus is one of my favourite songs.

A side note: Bjork wore the swan dress to the Academy Awards (the Oscars) when she was nominated for best song. I think that is why it got such a huge reaction out of the media: because the academy awards are so revered.

Absolutely wonderful guide to Bjork! I've been a Bjork fan since Homogenic was released (I was 11-years-old at the time) and it was absolutely wonderful to re-live all of the key Bjork moments that you talked about in this video. Bjork's catalogue has definitely been one of the most fun sinking my teeth into out of any other artist. There is also much that I have not yet discovered. Mostly from Volta and onwards. After listening to Volta and going to a concert from her Volta tour, that was kind of my pinnacle moment and I drifted to other artists from there. After your video, I feel like I kind of owe it to her to listen to the stuff that came afterwards. I discovered you from your Progressive rock videos and spotted this Bjork video. I must say that I agree that Homogenic is a near-perfect masterpiece. There are SO MANY albums that I could say are my favorite, but Homogenic is perhaps my favorite-favorite. PERHAPS. :]

Thanks a lot for these kind of videos. I also realized most of these artists that you choose for these videos either have a long career or a diverse/stellar career breaking all boundaries (I wouldn't see you doing this kind of video for acdc cause of not being the most diverse band haha). Thanks for a really fun / great speed-review of Bjork and her discog. I really enjoyed this and have subscribed to your channel. I really got into her stuff around 2001 with the Greatest Hits release and then dug through her brilliant back-catalogue. She's kinda lost me from Volta onwards, but after watching this, I might drive-in and give it all a more thorough listen. Like David Attenborough said "... Listening to the description you make of some songs I just felt tears coming, because it was perfectly what I felt listening to them I think that's a proof of how her songs are strong in universal, honest, beautiful emotions. Her words, these sounds, I can't get bored of them, and I sometimes do get the feeling that listening to Björk is like having a real connection with nature, love, universe, transcendance. Great, great stuff!!! I think 1993’s Play Dead was worth a mention, I think it was an important song for her career-wise, still love it. My favorite is Medulla, I thought it was groundbreaking, especially for Bjork. There’s so much going on in her music usually, it caught me by surprise that she brought out a record like that. The goosebumps I was getting throughout this near 50 minutes...! Thank you. You broke my heart and healed it at the same time. I am still not fully recovered from Bjork's O2 Arena concerts and it was a year ago, which was the very first one for me, and probably the last. Weird, since I am such a big fan, but had no means before to afford such things before. I am in a literal love with her since 1993, only using this expression because I have no other , better word to describe it. I could have listened to you for hours. It's a rare gem to stumble upon another Earthling who acknowledges Her fully and loves and enjoys Her work just as wholeheartedly as I do. Thank you!
