I’ve seen lots of videos of this Canyon and this is by far the best. I just love the fact that you get out take your time and we can see some of these incredible land formations it’s hard to find any information about this place so thank you. I subscribed and I hope to enjoy all of your work.

Oh, I really appreciate this comment. My videography is terrible, as I was a total novice with very limited equipment, so the fact that someone saw beyond that and found it helpful is great. Thanks so much.

If you go in summer it will be very hot, just be ready for it. Please let us all know what you thought of it afterward. If you're into geology and nature, plan a day or three for this road and take your time :-)

I don't know about talent, I'm just a bumbling hiker with a camera but thanks for the compliment, glad you enjoyed it though. :-)

There are a ton of hikes along this road. Be sure to look through my Utah Playlist for more, or search my videos for Cottonwood Canyon or Grand Staircase Escalante, since I've done all the hikes alone, you know you can to. 👌

Great video are there any rules about taking a rock with you? Would a regular car handle this road? Love the essay. Guide does not seem to be available.

There are rules in some places. Some rocks and fossils can't be collected, and in general, the rule is to leave it as you found it. Usually, if it's a protected area, such as a National Monument or park, we are not allowed to collect as they are protected areas. This area is in a National Monument so I would assume that no collecting is allowed along Cottonwood Canyon Road or anywhere in Grand-Staircase Escalante National Monument. I take pictures instead. Have fun!

National geographic topo maps, for sure. Also apps like GAIA combined with the map are helpful. I'd never rely on my phone alone out there, and if you are alone be sure to have a plan where people know when to expect you back etc. What month are you going? Late April, May are nice and late summer and early fall. Please, never enter a slot canyon if there is rain forecast, flash floods can form from rain locally, but also up to a hundred miles away. Research, research every slot, be sure you have the gear and skill required, then have fun!!!!!

What kind of snake was that?
@AdventureNomadforNature
@AdventureNomadforNature Жыл бұрын
I had to watch the whole video to answer that question, as I made that video five years ago. Haha. It was a gopher snake, non venomous. Won't bite unless you antagonize it. Goodness, my videos have come a long way since those days. I need to revamp or remake the oldies. 😂
