Definitely the best and most in depth Current tutorial out there

I'm glad Minimal Audio took the "hint" and are now offering us a way to actually BUY the plugin, so we can stop focusing on the "subscription only" mess and start talking about *what an amazing plugin this really is.* I love how they have adapted the best ideas and concepts from some of the most popular synth plugins of the last ten years and not only combined them but IMPROVED upon them in a lot of ways. Great stuff!

Hey Andrei, I love your content, I too quickly fell in love with current and started making a ton of content for it, only to realize on launch-day that it was subscription-only. That's a big chunk of potential work out of the window, it seems like 100% of my audience are not happy with it. Anyway, I'm just double checking that you know it's subscription-ONLY, as they didn't disclose that to me as a beta user, because I don't want you to put in a ton of work for nothing. All the best!

Hey. Thanks a lot. I'm a fan of your content as well. I just found out today that it's a subscription model also. I can see that many people are unhappy about it. I understand that, but on the other hand, Minimal is a very small company, and I think they intend to be putting a lot of their energy into further developing Current. So, I can understand why they chose to go that way. I hope they do well with Current, because it's an amazing plugin, and I would love to see it develop further as well.

We as their audience dont want this. Everyone hated Waves for it. So it doesn't matter if youre a small company or not. Also Marcus Lindstrom, an even smaller developer put out Synplant 2 this month. 150 euro im very willing to put up. Because its a perpetual license. Sorry but minimal audio fucked up, im saying this as someone who owns a perpetual License to all their effects

@@movement6514 I hear what you're saying. I'm not crazy about subscriptions myself. The only one I have had was plugin alliance, and I recently cancelled it. Again, I think their thinking was that this is an ongoing developing platform, so the subscription model helps keep the development going. But, it seems many people are disappointed about it. So, maybe they should reconsider. Obviously, they will want this to be widely adopted by producers. Maybe they could make a separate version without all the steam sounds included, because I think that is a big part of the subscription model. I think the collection of sounds in Steam is meant to be constantly growing. So, the Steam aspect of it, is something like having a splice or Loopcloud subscription. Anyway, I hope they do whatever they need to do to make it accessible, while at the same time supporting themselves, and covering the cost of ongoing development. I think there is a balance there. It's kind of like when Bitwig had their controversy about paid add ons. People got upset, so Bitwig cancelled it. But it seemed the reason for that model was that it could fund projects for making weird unconventional features that most people don't want in a DAW, while keeping their main resources for basic DAW development. So, in that situation, I totally understood why people got mad. But, at the same time, I would have loved to see what kind of strange new features might have been made available by the add on model, that we might never see now. So, again, I think with projects that are constantly evolving, they need a way to fund the development of new features. So, if they can get those funds, you probably end up with a cooler product. As to the Synplant 2 analogy. I bought it as well. But I have had Synplant 1 for almost a decade, and there was never a new feature added. When they added new features, it became Synplant 2, and we had to pay to upgrade. And I think for most plugins, that is how it works. The main upgrades you see are bug fixes, and keeping up with new MAC os. And when you get new features, you pay for that new version. And for plugins that have large sound libraries or preset packs, you generally pay for those individually as they are released. I think there are pros and cons to both ways. Perhaps there could be a version that is perpetual, but without Steam included, and with paid upgrades for new features. That would be more in line with Synth plugins that have perpetual licenses. But, it would probably be difficult to manage both versions at the same time. Again, whatever way they go, I hope this plugin gets adopted by many producers because I think it is the best synth out there.

Thanks for the video, that was a really nice overview of Current's functions. One thing I've noticed is missing that I like in Serum is the Rise control on the LFO, do you know if there is any way of easily getting the same function out of Current?
@WindiguanaАй бұрын
You should be able to do what your asking by dragging another modulator onto the modulation slider that already has an lfo assignment therefore modulating the depth of that lfo

Off the top of my head, choose the PWM waveform and use the Position control to go through the Wave.
