Two Tarifs are interesting on this trip the regional tarif called Niedersachsenticket which includes SBahn and UBahn in Hannover and Hamburg but you can only use non IC and ICE trains or you pay Niedersachsentarif. Kids taken on these trips are in most cases free.

I still loathe public transportation in Germany, even as a German. Talking to my German friends, they, too, are constantly annoyed at the fact that it is unnecessarily bloated and complex with all the different zones, then the different regional transport agencies, and then the regional vs. national trains. At least the Deutschlandticket has alleviated that somewhat, but then again, it is overkill for sporadic travelers, it doesn't cover the long-distance trains, and they are already talking about making it even more expensive again. On a positive note, great video and your happiness makes it so much more enjoyable to follow along 😉

Even if they did make the Deutschlandticket more expensive, it'd still be dirt cheap. Even the Klimaticket in Austria, the ticket model that many advocated for in Germany before the Deutschlandticket became a thing, is much more expensive than that.

Just remember that the 49€ Ticket is a SUBSCRIPTION! So you have to actively cancel it until the 10th of the following month otherwise it will automatically renew even if youve left the country in the meantime.. That doesnt matter , you will still pay for it!

Does the Länderticket include transportation in Hamburg and Bremen, though? Because technically, they are their own Bundesländer...

With the Niedersachen Ticket I believe you can also travel in Hamburg but I’m not 100% sure about that. It might have changed. And no ideas about Bremen, I’m never there sorry

The Niedersachsenticket is also valid in Hamburg and Bremen and even takes you into the first station in NRW and the Netherlands! From then on you do need a local ticket
