TrailTrialerMTB went out today don’t think I found it is it on the opposite side of the road to the Beast-lime burner trail? Got a cool vid out of the sesh any tips on improvement would be much appreciated. Lol I’m just watching ur vid again and you’re so much faster than me😂
@TrailTrialerMTB4 жыл бұрын
Lewys Wilson, Yes where all the cars are parked at the bottom of the beast, you cross the road Into a little track which goes down into the forest. From there you keep going for maybe 25 metres until there is a trail on your left which if you go up is then the start of the off piste route. You then follow the route over the next fire road and past the metal barriers which they just haven’t removed yet however you would probably need the gps the first few times but from there you can then follow the route. Also about speed I actually have a video in a few weeks coming up of me on the trails 7 years ago and it took me 6 minutes to get down the beast so we do definitely get better over time 👍👍
@TrailTrialerMTB4 жыл бұрын
Lewys Wilson Decided to so Just checked it out 😂😂 Good video, way better than my first one but one thing I would recommend is to put in a description with 3 # in it as they will appear under your video and it will show up in search results. I also recommend adding tags from the KZbin studio where you can add up to 500 letters as that’s how they also show up in search results. Good thumbnail though, 👍👍 I can guarantee that will make people watch it 👍

Great video, how did you get to the section at 5:00??
@TrailTrialerMTB4 жыл бұрын
Near the top of the beast when you get to the opening for the beast from the trail and the pit before it go straight over and there’s a little trail leading in to it or go in the opposite direction of the beast so away from the sign up the hill and turn left at the top and then the pit is on your left. The pit itself is called Howes Run Pit and I think it is pit 8 on the map, hope this helps

@TrailTrialerMTB2 жыл бұрын
It’s a bit of a hot topic in all honesty as there’s very mixed opinions throughout the community. My personal opinion would be no, due to the nature of the bikes it could potentially tear up the trails and also annoy certain riders on the trail at the time. Maybe you could not use the official trails and head over to the unmarked ones in Brandon? The only advice would be to not go roaring through somewhere unless you 100% know it’s clear at the risk someone as you frequently get people standing in or around trails. My personal opinion, no, but I’d ask the community on their Facebook page 🙌

Think you could do the red route on a hybrid?
@TrailTrialerMTB4 жыл бұрын
I mean you probably could and I wouldn’t say no, although I wouldn’t highly recommend on some sections i.e. The Beast which you could just go around although I reckon you could do it and just skip or go round some of the rougher sections which Thetford doesn’t really have many of anyway 👍👍
@RollModel7244 жыл бұрын
@@TrailTrialerMTB Thanks. I am looking at getting my first MTB but everyone has my head spinning with advice. Other than your bigger drops you showed-- most of what you put on video is what I am looking for. It is a matter of hardtail, learn and maybe eventually get a full suspension with air forks; OR just spend the money and get a full suspension bike hoping that I ride enough to become a beast and grow into a bike that is way more capable than I am. So far, riding over at Go Ape and some light trails about Suffolk, the hybrid does OK..but You can definitely tell how much "exciting" the ride is on a less appropriate bike.

Any idea where to find pit 5 and why pit 8 hasn't been maintained?
@TrailTrialerMTB4 жыл бұрын
For pit 5, where the second new section on the red route starts as you go past that wildlife bomb hole on the double track, you have to go straight on and follow that fire road straight on until you get to the pit which will be on your right hand side, this is probably the easiest way to get to it from the red route. If not then you can get to it after the slight uphill section with the berms called Cannocks Chase, where you come out on the large rocky fire road, you go right and follow that fire road along before taking the first left and the bomb hole is just a little way down there on the left hand side. In terms of Howes run Pit, they don’t really tend to maintain the trails much as riders normally keep the vegetation back by riding it however this pit doesn’t get ridden as much and it’s normally a case of if everyone kicks back a few branches when they ride it then it will be maintained which I tried a bit last week. If your going to pit 5 though, it might be very overgrown and sandy as barely many people ride it due to it being right out the way and it tends to get forgotten about so gets very overgrown around this time of year.
@edz_gaming79153 жыл бұрын
I think saying beginners can go on it is very optimistic, also it’s very annoying when you get stuck behind 5 year olds because they go soo slowly and there is a reason why there is a green trail
@TrailTrialerMTB3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I kinda agree... I was actually there today so you may have even ridden past me 😂😂 I have contemplated removing that part of the video but I think there are many other factors as to why inexperienced riders still ride the trail that can’t be solved... I don’t know, I’ll have to see if I can remove that part...

I just have to point out that the ratings of the trails and features at thetfort are terrible, the red trail should be green and the black bomb holes should be blue or at the very most red. Like it's actually embarrassing that they decided to rate the first bomb hole black its green
@TrailTrialerMTB2 жыл бұрын
Some do have different opinions and I understand 🙌 Yes it is true, Thetford isn’t a Red trail compared to other red’s around the country. However, they mark it as red to keep it as the localised “red trail”, also to prevent every single family going round it with their trailers and child seats as that would ultimately ruin the experience for a lot of faster riders who can make the most of the trail. I do agree though the first one isn’t black, maybe red tops to match the route 🤷♂️ But yeah, i agree it isn’t a red trail but likewise understand why they have rated it that…

If you really want to know then maybe ask on TIMBER’s FB page but I’m pretty sure (99.9%) that it would be a no. Basically anywhere I post a video on, it’s highly likely that you won’t be able to ride one of those there unfortunately as they’re trails for bikes.
