San Sebastian is on the top of our list of favorite places in Spain. So much to do and who doesn't like to eat good food?!

Great content guys! Would love to see more from your travels. We are planning a trip to San Sebastian next June but have never travelled out of the US so we are a little intimidated.

did you ever make it there? I'm thinking about doing a 90 day visa from the US.
@karlwilliams66262 жыл бұрын
@@scottkamm80 Yes, we did. It was more amazing than I’d hoped. We are already planning a trip back. If you haven’t already check out the Hella Basque KZbin channel. Spanish will get you by but the Basque language is a lot of fun.

Ah, San Sebastián: they told me it was the fairest littoral city in all Spain. Well, for setting, agreed. That cute wee curve of bay with the mini-islands is, indeed, reminiscent of a small-scale version of Rio. But the city? The truth? For me, it has about 3 streets and Plaza Consti. to see, but the rest is nothing but a sprawling, apartment-blockey bathetic let-down. Lift San Sebastián up, plonk it 200 miles inland and it would be what it really is: a vaguely modern-looking nondescript town with a rather small, but not unattractive, Old Town, based on one mildly attractive plaza, and, frankly, little else. Unless you like the pintxos bars.

@@flyiasf5668 All I’m saying is that if San Sebastián, the city, that is the buildings were picked up and plonked down 200 miles inland no one would notice it. The beach is lovely 🏖, but the architecture of the city as a whole is very underwhelming. I expected an extensive Old Town, as in Vitoria or Pamplona, for example, but it wasn’t there. Plaza Constitution and about 3 streets. The rest of the town is just drab apartment blocks. It reminded of Biarritz, tbh, a similarly bathetic, drab-looking town, also saved by a world-class beach.

@@titteryenot4524 well there's more to it than just the buildings. Cities are more than just buildings. It's about the people, the history, the culture and especially in San Sebastian about the food. You can spend days here eating some of the best food in the world in just ordinary bars. It's a city that can be full of live and joy. And yes. The beach is beautiful.

Hello! I think I got the attention of that ship over there. I can lower the platform and get us down there. Hold tight until I can bring this platform back up. Get on the platform!
