Good video! You did neglect to add the Himalayan Snowcock, introduced in the Northern Nevada mountains in the early 1960's.

I noticed you did not include the doves and crow. But well done on the others.

If you want to get into good physical shape, take up the pursuit of chukar. They live in steep, rugged rocky hillside gullies, and they hardly ever fly, they just keep running away from you up the gully while you try to keep up, sweating buckets and gasping for air. Then when you chase it to the top of the gully, it hides and waits until you're real close, then explodes out right over your head, scaring the wee out of you, and flies straight downhill to the bottom of the gully, chukking derisively, to start the game all over again. Smart birds, and a species that will never be over-hunted. They're just too much trouble to catch.

Well written. I completely agree! Chukar was the most prevalent game bird near my childhood home.

That was my favourite sport during my teenage/ young adult years back in a country on the mountains. They were migrating by thousands springtime, then back to warmer places by October. They were indeed challenging. As you described. By the time you climb a cliff to get closer, just to find out they’ve walked up another cliff higher, talking about hours of walking to sneak up 😂. But we had some strategies to apply like snaring and trapping. My favourite one was actually to use a binocular to locate them, then go around them a bit higher just a shotgun range, then sneak up behind a rock ready to shoot 😂. They taste delicious making chuckar soups.

Utah had many pheasants before they decided that hawks and eagles were more important.
