Wolfsong shattered my soul so many times. Trying to make this spoiler free but there is a certain wolf that I love more than anything in this world and the scene where has asks if it's okay if he courts someone's son is probably the funniest book passage I've ever read. "YOU HAVE IT WRITTEN DOWN." I HISSED AT HIM 😂😂😂 On Ravensong now (also doing lightning struck heart because ravensong is already shattering me and I need the lulz to mend my breaking heart. Really enjoyed this video ❤️❤️

@@thePMreader ended up reading Heartsong and Brothersong in like 3 days and I had a migraine from hell after I was done. 😂 Brothersong ended up being my favorite. Adored Carter and Gavin's little love story and Gavin's pink diva shirt was everything 😂

As someone who found TJ Klune through a LGBTQ+ Fantasy Book List, I have to say that I was SHOCKED by The Lightining Struck Heart series!! It feels like it was written for me and all of the characters were out of this world. What really struck me about this series was the amount of humor that was pumped into every chapter (even during steamy, descriptive, mature.... moments). That being said, imagine my surprise when I jumped ship and went straight for House in the Cerulean Sea; a beautiful romantic fantasy book that made my softboi heart leap for joy. Then came Under the Whispering Door and I cried, more than I thought I would; I LOVED the complexities of each of the characters, as well as the mystery within this world. After that book, I took a break and discovered the Green Creek series. I have LOTS to say about it but before I get to that, I'll finish explaining my reading path: after the Green Creek series, I went for the Extraordinaries. I was the most hesitant about this book series due to the many reviews that mentioned the controversy of its portrayal of Police and the hero worship of it all. I cringed more than a few times at some of the tone-deaf comments that were made but was happy to see all of that addressed in the second book of the series. As of writing this, I am about 3/4 of the way through the third book in that series and I think that it's the best of the series and absolutely worth making it through that first book. I CAN'T WAIT to finish the series. I have avoided most of the "normal" setting books simply because I prefer magic/supernatural/fantasy when reading and I doubt I will read those series' despite the high reviews. Finally, my comments on the Green Creek series; first, I want to say that after reading/listening to the entire series I decided to reread it immediately as I simply did not want to leave the world of Green Creek. Tragedy, trauma, mental illness, found family, sexual identity, magic, chosen one, the list goes on and on about the topics and tropes covered in this series but ALL of it feels brand new. On my first read through I called into work (more than once) just to continue the series and find out more about the story. On my second readthrough, I only called in once but I CALLED IN. AGAIN. To continue the story that I ALREADY READ ONCE. Ox is one of the best characters I've had the chance to read in a book EVER. The complex emotions and the trials and tribulations faced throughout the series are some of the most interesting I've read. I found myself relating to him but also fascinated by him at nearly every turn. I cannot overstate how much I loved his character. I found myself wishing that each book had a little more of Ox's perspective, just to see each part of the story through his eyes and hear his thoughts. In Ravensong, I felt a bit annoyed by Gordo and his unwillingness to forgive but (of course) after learning more about him and his troubled past with both the Bennets and his own family, I fell in love with his story and the part he had to play in the overall series. When it came to Robbie I was soooo confused at the beginning of his story, with everything being scattered across timelines, I was worried I couldn't keep up. I'm a sucker for "the power of love" trope and found myself relating to Robbie despite my initial impression of him being an annoying side character. Carter... I don't even know what to say with his character arc. I liked him from the beginning but found him annoying, in the way that a self-sacrificing idiot sibling is annoying. He started off as such a simple character in the series but by the final book... I was glad he was the final perspective we got to read. Now I can't break down my feelings on EVERY character but the final one I want to mention is our Queen; Elizabeth. She was the anchor for this entire series and if she wasn't part of each story then I don't think the series would have made it onto my favorites list. I don't want to spoil anything but let's just say that from our first introduction to her, to the final description of her character; I was in love with her. and as a gay man, that carries some heavy weight. I've read hundreds, if not thousands, of books and I thought that nothing would ever top my favorite series of all time; The Demonata Series by Darren Shan. I don't think anything could ever move that series from my heart but I was blown away when I realized that my heart had room for one more series and that is the Green Creek series. I cried so much throughout this book series that I had a migraine for 3 days. Such fantastic writing, worldbuilding, and character development. AND THE PACING. My heart was racing constantly. I apologize for such a long post but I don't have anyone else who understands just how amazing TJ Klune's works are. Thanks for making this video and for letting me share!

Goddam are you me? Demonata was my childhood. I remember getting freaked out by the cover of "Bec" so badly I had to leave the book in another room before going to sleep. Also I loved Green Creek. Just the general campy vibes of the whole series was something I was so into! The house in the Cerueleun Sea is definitely my fav klune book so far though. Edit : typing is hard

I've started reading his books with the Green Creek series and I'm finally on the last book (it's been an amazing journey so far and I love these characters and their packpackpack SO much, I feel like I'm literally a part of them rn lmao) and I'm so anxious to get into other books from him! I started reading The House of the Cerulean Sea a while ago (before Green Creek) but didn't like it much, I stopped it after 30 or so pages, but I'll prob give it another try while reading all of his books in the order you put them! Thank you for this video!!
