I've read the manga, and I don't think so. People warned me about Hanako being a yandere in the manga but I didn't see in any moment that Hanako was like that.

[spoilers] You might think this because when people say "yandere" its oh im gonna kill this person because they're a threat to me and my crush's relationship but yanderes arent simply like that Yanderes are people who would go to extremes just for the person they love this doesn't necessarily involve murder and violence but I guess thats what "extremes" kinda are. In Hanako's case though, specifically in shijima's arc, he was driven to the "extremes" I mentioned because he desperately wanted to save Yashiro even if it meant going against her will and trapping her in that fake world. And also there's this page that immediately sent me "oh shit thats a yandere if ive ever seen one" imgur.com/a/6iieSfv But I should also point out that Hanako isnt a normal yandere, usually theyd do everything to get with the person they like, but he just genuinely wants Yashiro to live and be happy. But, again, his way of doing so is what essentially makes him out to be a sort of "yandere" type person.
