Genetic plays a factor but not the main one. Back in the days like 150-300 years ago people didn't use to go bald so much. I suppose the stress, the food, the water are a bigger factor.

People didnt live long enough pre 1900s for most people to go fully bald. But thinning still occured. It is genetic in nature, only exacerbated by other factors

I think im screwed my dad still has a good strong almost juvenile hairline and he is 40. And his family doesnt seem to bald almost any. My moms brothers all have hair. But her dad was bald by 19. Im so scared lolll. Im almost 19 but I still nervous.

Theres medical drugs you can take to help prevent baldness over the years! But honestly the older we get, the more likely we are to get thinner hair (esp for women) or start balding. It's just part of life, you could always wear a wig haha

I wonder. I started to go bald maybe as soon as i hit puberty. It was more noticable when i was around 21-22. Now i am 32 and i think i havent lost that much hair in the recent years but i have lost a lot over the years overall. I just dont know why i have it. My dad and his side of the family all had hair at my age, but they started to lose it around maybe 50 or so. My mother side there is no balding at all, my grandfather still had a lot of hair even when he was 80. I hoped i would inherit his genes but that was not the case. Is it possible that other factors can cause hair loss or at least cause you to lose it earlier in life. Bad life habits like stress for example?

I use argan oil and any other oil i can find at whole foods and use it as a gel. I have the shoe horn balding im fifty so i guess its just time for me however it sucks getting old..i had friends in there 70's with full hair why cant we beat this problem? girls get tits i want hair.

Luchyly my moms family my moms dad had a full head of hair till he died at 50 or 52? as for my dad he is bald but that was probably due to a bad case of serioses and taking a medication which cuases baldness to treat his skin condition and him not taking caire of his hair properly for years. I have allso herd a lot of shampoos on the market are allso to blame bec they block up the hair folackles.

The only one other bald person in my family tree is my dads mothers father. Lucky me i actually love my hair loss because i've kept my hair short since i was 15 and started losing hair at 27 and i started getting tired of my girlfriends begging me to grow my hair longer.

There are cases when brothers with same mom and same dad, are bald and not respectively, so where's genetics? As a Software Engineer, that dealt during my life, with very large complex code bases, I know how even the most minor change in the code could have incredible consequences, so it's the baldness, you have 100,000 threads of hair at age of 10, and only 50,000 at the age of 30, and surprisingly those missing threads are only on some parts of the head. Why some parts of the head are totally immune to that damn hormone, and other parts are totally vulnerable? There is a tiny small minor bug, in DNA, that causes this misfortune. What I believe is that the vulnerable parts of the scalp, are those where there's less fat under the skin. Once you're bald there's nothing left to do, but, when you're still not, a good idea, would be to constantly have massage all over your head. The critical period is between 15 and 30, if you manage well this period, than you'll avoid the baldness until the hair will be totally white, and you will be too old to have any more benefits of not being bald.
