A Happy Shut-In: A fictional short-short story

Well, a true story. Retired since 2016, loving life, accomplishing many (when I get around to it) things that needed done around the house, not going out much, playing guitar. Then covid hit. Then the lockdown. That started practically the day my wife flew to see her sister for 2 weeks. So, no place to go except for a quick cautious trip the grocery store. I dug a ditch by hand that I needed done, refinished our dining table and chairs, all in a very relaxing pace. It wasn't bad. Not bad at all.

To each his own. My wife who still works often asks me, a man well past retirement age, "don't you get bored being all day alone and cooped in at home?" And every time, as usual, I have the greatest difficulties explaining to her that I was never so free nor so happy in my life as I am today to appreciate the beauty, the sounds,, the sights (not the smells or the feels in everything internet yet) that surround me every single day. It is glorious and I wish I had the wherewithal to retain even one-one thousandth of what reaches my brain such that I too could contribute to that beauty I see and feel in my bones.

There is a reason why you have no comments , only 48 views and only 7 likes on your fictional short- story. I sure hope your other fictional story videos is written better then this one. Just one old fart to another .

@@ILikeChickens1 I have not put out even one video that I produced on my channel . That is why I have only 9 subs. Marty has asked that people leave comments so I did. Marty has done a number of these fictional stories and MANY of his videos have zero views like this one. His own 9,000 subs do not even bother to leave a comment or there will be one or two. He obviously cannot cook very well since he does not get very much likes, views or comments on his cooking .

Well, here is an example of the failure of an "Algorithm" to intelligently trim superfluous comments. Had it done its job this time it would have been appropriate to exclaim: "Good riddance!" Unfortunately, we were not so lucky.
