It's not that hard. Once you find a linear expression for the number in the brackets squared, the path to the answer is clear. Just multiply that squared expression by itself again and again (and also once by the original number, if need be) until you reach the wanted exponent of the original number.

We could also use Pascal's triangle 1. 1. 1. 2. 1. 1. 3. 3. 1 1. 4. 6. 4. 1 1. 5. 10. 10. 5. 1 1. 6. 15. 20. 15. 6. 1 1. 7. 21. 35. 35. 21. 7. 1 1. 8. 28. 56. 70. 56. 28. 8. 1 1. 9. 36. 84. 126. 126. 84. 36. 9. 1 1. 10. 45. 120. 210. 252. 210. 120. 45. 10. 1 Hence, (√3-1)^10 = (√3)^10 - 10(√3)^9 + 45(√3)^8 - 120(√3)^7 + 210(√3)^6 - 252(√3)^5 + 210(√3)^4 - 120(√3)^3 + 45(√3)^2 - 10(√3) + 1

If you know how binomial expansion works you don't need to write down the Pascal's triangle everytime
