Wow! That result was a surprise! And such a pity. I think Ellie should have just concentrated on her own relationship with Matt during her last single date with him. it was a mistake bringing up Abby again. Abby obviously does have a good connection with Matt and is attracted to him. The issue I see is that she is extremely self-serving. Dating someone who is that self-serving, and will not reciprocate when someone does you a favour at their own expense (as Ellie had done in the past for her) is dangerous. You will always come second to their own ends. She's good at getting what she wants, she's attractive and cunning. But do you really want to fall in love with someone like that?
