A Heartwarming Surprise for An Inspiring Music Teacher

When Ellen and Shutterfly heard about music teacher Melissa Salguero’s school, P.S. 48 in the Bronx, New York, being burglarized, they knew they had to get involved, and boy did they! They gave the P.S. 48 Music Program $10,000 worth of musical instruments and a $50,000 check!

This is so awesome. I'm familiar with the Hunts Point area, growing up only 5 miles from there in the Soundview section of the Bronx. I no longer live in NY, but the Bronx will forever be my home. Thank you Ellen for helping the next generation.

I had to berry my face in a pillow because I live in a sm apt and I knew I would disturb my neighbor. U do so many wonderful things for people and I bless u for that. I didn't go to this school, but went to P.S. 77 just 3 train stops away from the Hunts Point area. I love hearing stories about people helping the Bronx communities. It was rough, but I wouldn't trade growing up in the Bronx for anything in the world. Bless these teachers and Ellen for giving so much of themselves. Good luck P.S. 48. You're already rock stars.
