Two days ago, I stood by my grandma's hospital bed, said my final goodbyes and watched her slip away. It was the greatest pain that I've ever experienced in my life. For the past 5 hours, I've been trying to write something about my grandma. But no matter how much I try, it's never enough. Words can't full express how I feel about her, nor can it do her life story justice... so as hard as it is, I'm going to set my frustration aside and speak from the heart: If there is a higher power out there, please look after her. She spent most of her life looking after everybody but herself... and I would give anything to know that she's happy and in a better place now. During the war, she lost everything - her friends, her husband, many of her children and family; and after being relocated from Cambodia to the US as a refugee and rebuilding her life with whatever family she had left, she lost another child. No mother wants to see their children die, but my grandma... she went through the unimaginable. Yet, somehow, through all of the tragedy and suffering, she still found room in her heart to push on and to keep giving, even when she had nothing left to give. My grandma lived her life as a devout Buddhist and never lived beyond of her means; but Buddhist or not, she was by any standards an absolutely amazing person. She never hurt anybody and cared so much about people, almost to fault. Anybody who met her couldn't help but smile. She was too adorable. She's an angel, and had a warm energy about her that always brought the family together, especially during trying times. And even though she'll deny it, she truly deserves everything - because she took nothing. Grandma, please know that I love you. I know I didn't always say it out loud, and that absolutely crushes me... because I know how much you loved me. And now that you're gone, there is a huge hole in my heart. I never knew just how much of you was a part of me - and now I know. I will never take my time with you for granted, and I will always carry with me the values you lived by: Honesty. Courage. Forgiveness. Selflessness. Family. You were all of those things and I am so lucky and proud to be called your grandson. Thank you for taking care of us, and for letting us take care of you. You were so brave when you left us. I love you, Yei. We all do.

Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sun on ripened grain. I am the gentle Autumn rain. When you awake in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. Mary Elizabeth Frye She must have been so proud of your amazing talent.

Very touching story. Be assured that there is a higher power, and He feels the deep pain in your heart. His name is Jehovah (Psalm 83:18), and he promises that there will come a time soon when “death will be no more” (Revelation 21:3 4). We were all made in Gods image, and so the beautiful music that flows from your heart and hands is a testament to the feelings that God himself has in his heart. He loves you, and your grandmother, and yearns to bring her back to life in the resurrection.

I wrote this poem while listening to this: One Last Time Someone left the light on- And I learned that it was God. Another hike in wilderness But this time- something odd. Things the mind can’t understand- But there are ways to know That reach into the deepest places Reason cannot go. Something told me, “Stop a while.” Maybe- in a dream. Sunshine turned into a smile- Things ain’t what they seem. Who is this- a silhouette? Better things can’t be- Love I never could forget- Coming back to me. “Look at that”- the tears are coming- This will be a flood- Some familiar tune we’re humming- Here in flesh and blood. “Dad,” and yet this isn’t dreaming- Dapper in his cap- Don’t know why my heart’s not screaming- This is off the map. Just that smile, those piercing eyes- Standing both aglow- Look at us, two crazy guys From way, back long ago. Nothing either needs to say- Stars above two men. Love that never went away- Sees the truth again. John H. Bidwell

I am a concert pianist and I have been listening to your music it's just wonderful in one of your pieces I think about the crazy music I could hear another piano playing Another Part to that music like two pianos playing at the same time I bet you could do that I hope that you will think about this and do it so intertwine two thoughts together I can see that in your playing your movement on the piano with so much expression where I don't have to analyze your playing I can relax and listen where I have listened to other piano music other performers and they're good but I'm always saying you could have done this to it or you could have done that to it in your case I don't have that sense of needing to do anything to say change this change that I have taught for over 60 years so I have a problem in that area lol now my main thing is doing gospel music so I've studied a lot of classical and perform classical that I like to arrange gospel music and you gave me so many new ideas to do with my gospel music but I'm a little old lady from Pasadena who is 77 years old so I am not out there like you are you're young and have a future and you've already accomplished a lot in your future so keep going you're awesome people would love to hear more of you personally in a concert I imagine and look at the reviews you've had wow over 70,000 awesome no I might add I have not tried personally to match that because I've been in so many other different areas writing books for piano as an educator and mystery stories that are real in my life and now I have a restaurant where my kids cook and run it and I'm comedian on top of that and perform at the restaurant. God bless you and your endeavors and keep playing that piano.

I didn’t get to grow up in his home, but my empathy led me to call my dad. His strength as a Jamaican immigrant is why I am here. #eternally and forever grateful. I would just spend as much time as I could talking to my aunt, about anything. She passed away so suddenly on us, and I will forever regret not taking the time to listen to her stories more. She always was the person in our family encouraging me to keep learning, to keep discovering, to keep going, no matter what obstacles or naysayers I may encounter as I go. It's because of her I ended up choosing the university I wanted, found the courage to travel thousands of miles from home, and start a journey of self-discovery I still haven't concluded. My biggest regret is not having spent more time with her, getting to know who she was as a person. All I can do now is hope I'm making her proud, and to perhaps one day be the same inspiration to one of the children in my life.
