This footage is mainly of the old City Methodist Church in Downtown Gary. What remains of the church and attached building and theatre was used for filming of multiple movies in the past, most notably "A Nightmare on Elm Street" in 2010. Afterwards I drove around a bit and took some more footage of abandoned schools and other buildings. This was unplanned and a bit rushed, so my apologies for the camera work and wind noise. I hope to return soon to do more filming and hopefully some narration and/or history of certain things. Thanks for watching! @Stadium79

Interesting video. It’s a shame to see buildings fall to shambles. It makes you wonder what they were like when people roamed around inside.

Whenever I’m in an old building like this I can’t help but try to imagine what it was like. It’s sad to me to see beautiful architecture like that in the shape it is in. Thanks for watching and for sharing your comment!

It was eerily quiet actually. Not many people around at all.

Wait so this is in Indiana? What part of Indiana? I’ve never seen it and I live in Indiana
@stadium79 Жыл бұрын
Sure is. Northwest Indiana, about 30 miles from Chicago.

@@stadium79 ahh okay, I’m actually in Richmond so I’m not really that far away. Speaking of Richmond, did you see the factory that caught on fire?

It is City Methodist Church. There have been a few movies filmed there actually. The most famous is probably a nightmare on elm street back in 2010. Thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!😊

@stadium79 good to know, haven't seen nightmare on elm street yet but maybe this is my sign to watch it!

I have actually never seen it either! Maybe I’ll have to check it out too. I’m pretty sure that the tattered canvas that is hanging from the bell tower was put there back in 2010 for safety purposes in case anything fell during filming
