7:35 Macchi can not be added as MIO to Naval Bomber, so you have to use fighter weapon at first slot to do that. I found out many interesting facts about overall mio's stats, thanks to you. Keep up the good work!

With Focus Cita Alta I think you get for free recon camera, so you can save one Slot on reaserch. Also when I tried do modowy Cr32 (interwar airframe) to those with engII and better machine guns they were still inferior to Basic airframes during Spanish Civil war

Thanks for the tip! Not suggesting CR32 are great by any means, but you have 300 of them. You can leave them rot or upgrade them if you wish.

@@balkan-cowboy I know, but as I think after ethiopian war usually you have 8 air exp, just enough to make the simplest Basic Small airframe as a fighter, which later can be modified. It is a matter of IC calculation, I am Not the best in it, bcs mostly I play for a role play. Also Cr32 are wanted on international market, so they can be converted in Building speed. This Game is so much layered

I convert all my initial fighters to CAS, as the quality of the plane is less important than on a fighter. Plus, Greece and Romania don't have an airforce to contest Italy at the beginning.

Update. I didn't know heavy fighters were good, or even viable. I will need to test them. How well do they compare to normal Improved Fighters?

Well, you have to take it in the context of Italy. Heavy fighters with 100% efficiency are better than light fighters with 50% efficiency. You will be flying over Egypt, and the eastern front airfields can get congested by the Germans, so you will have more of an impact by going for range. Also heavy multi roles are disgusting if used properly. In short, the areas of interest to Italy require more range for proper power projection, and you have an excellent MIO to do just that. That's not to say light aircraft are not viable as well, you just need to be careful where you use them.

@@balkan-cowboy Not entirely, also you'd want to only do this with both conversion tech. Step 1: Make a base fighter design, very barebones. For example fighter 2 with only one 4x HMG module and 1x Engine 3. Step 2. Make a "real" design with all the modules you want, but has to be the same engine type and same first weapon. So let's say in your base design you can't have LMG but have HMG in your real design. I mean you can... but it would make it less efficient. Step 3: Make two lines, one for the base design, and one for the real design. The base design should be designated as obsolete so you can convert it into the real fighter. Keep in mind, you produce less than just allotting the same amount of factories to one line of "real fighters", the real benefit comes from saving almost 2/3 worth of resources at a ~10% production hit. Because they're non-existent. Look man, I don't mean to insult anyone. I average 97% like rating for my videos and most of the comments are positive, so I'm happy with that. That doesn't mean that everyone likes them and I'm sorry to hear my content bored you. You're welcome to watch all the other HOI4 channels and I wish you all the best. @@balkan-cowboy Hey, no worries man. And I'm not taking potshots at your character but at your designs. I mean, sorry, but mediums are way too expensive to ever be remotely "meta" at anything with their cost in a game that's pretty much about numbers. I could rush small frames 3 and still have more, and more effective, planes by 1940 then by doing what you suggested. Direct me to minecraft videos next if that makes you feel better but this is more a guide on how to get your ass kicked in the air by AI Britain than anything else. Also, Italy is one of the worst countries to try this on since they both get that range MIO and their early fights and those that matter the most are in Europe, Balkans and Northern Africa. All relatively small areas compared to say Asia.

@@medicinyamouth Your initial potshots were not at my designs but at the video being tedious (too long/monotonous). Now that you've mentioned designs, we can have a more worthwhile discussion. This is a "meta" video, or content that is intended for multiplayer games, as for single player, you can beat the AI with any decent small or medium frame design. So I don't agree that AI Britain can beat player Italy even with superior numbers because the AI is that bad at designing planes and directing its airforce in a meaningful manner. In the video, I also suggested for players to see my Germany meta video if they want to build light fighters. It is true that you can go in a lot of directions with Italy, and small airframes are certainly valid. However, when it comes to multiplayer, player Italy often runs into the following problems: 1. Airfields being overcrowded on the Eastern front by the many German light fighters. This makes mediums viable due to their ability to fly from airports further back while maintaining 100% mission efficiency. USSR airzones are not small. 2. North Africa doesn't have small airzones, especially if your main airforce goal is to project air superiority into Egypt. The two airports in Lybia can be developed, but a light fighter (even with range) cannot have more than 60-ish percent air coverage of Egypt. A medium covers the zone 100%. And I have made plenty of tests that show even a difference of 15% mission efficiency can have a dramatic impact in battle, so imagine what 30%+ can do. You can try to compensate with numbers but you will still suffer much heavier IC losses due to decreased mission efficiency. For example, if you have 2000 light fighters fighting at 60% efficiency vs 2000 at 100% mission efficiency, you're effectively fighting with 1200 fighters vs the enemy because of your decreased efficiency. A good range-focused light fighter is around 34 IC, which is 43.4% cheaper than the 60IC medium, but the reduced efficiency in these zones evens the playing field, especially when you have such an OP medium fighter MIO. 3. Balkans are generally ok for light fighters, but don't underestimate the Yugoslavian airzone. Also, Germany can help out with air superiority before Barbarossa. 4. Fuel - If things don't go your way, more fighters = more fuel consumption, which is something to consider since you're the supporting cast in the Axis. Also, after you fight long enough, the fewer losses from mediums have an effect on your air wing experience, so mediums do get better with time. Again, I'm not saying light fighters are not great for Italy, but I think you're underestimating mediums for this country, considering how good the medium FTR version of Fiat Aviazione is.
