I had listen to this interview a few months ago and now i am in a sooo similar situation and this interview helped me to choose to move back home with my mom as well. I don't see it as failure is a reset.

She is So Honest God Bless her she. There are so many people even in that very audience with similar situation. My sister/people just like Uncle Steve said. We all destined for greateness as God never made us to suffer. But you have to know this the path to your dreams is never easy. What you did is swallowed your pride which is fantastic and u went home. Now you have the time to restructure or redo the plan of your life and knock out tge things that you dont need and focus on the things you really need. Alot of us should learn to do this but it takes one to accept like what you have done. Blessings. keep on keeping on dear you will get there.

I’m sure lyric’s mother told her the same thing Steve said, but she didn’t want to listen. Sometimes people try to force their “destiny “ by moving to a big city. They do this blindly (“by faith”) and doesn’t take the time to research about the city they desire to move to. Plus she is a “lyricist”, how many job openings are there in her field? Some creative people are dreamers , they don’t want to face reality that their career choice is not in line with what can pay your bills. They have unrealistic expectations and wonder why they struggle. I have a brother just like her, very talented & gifted but not realistic with what the job market is in demand for, following his dreams & near 50 years old and still trying to “regroup “, just like lyric. For years our parents & siblings tried to give him advice, but people like him & Lyric rather take advice from strangers than family. Smh
