This assumes the term was invented from the TV show. It's had many names over it's life. Been prayed to for something to work for years. The language has changed but the concept is the same. A God of hasty repairs you pray work long enough to get you somewhere by any other name is still the same deity.

Why pray to a saint when they have to get permission or be granted to do anything by god? If he is so powerful and omnipresent why does he need helpers? Makes no sense in my opinion. It is always better to go to the source
