the extra omega springs they give are actually a hair more thick than the ones in the knife. Installing the spares makes pretty significant difference, takes much more pressure to use the axis bar, its really cool. Plus the spares being more thick should mean they wont break nearly as easily as well!
@lkayh2 жыл бұрын
Kizer is just getting pretty much everything right these days. I suspect this is going to be one of those knives reviewers pull out for size/etc. comparisons because it’s going to be one of the knives most people have. I’d been kind of planning for a Mini Bugout, but the planning involved buying the knife PLUS scales, as you said, because I don’t love grivory. Aluminum is more appealing, honestly, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Kizer come out with upgraded scales for this in the near future, at a better price than what’s out there for the Bugout.

Zac has a nice video showing the full range of the adjustments. The lowest setting looks like it has no detent whatsoever, and can be shaken out. The highest setting looks more like what most people are used to, requiring a pretty normal amount of force to flick out.
@joshuasheldon9982 жыл бұрын
also, if you install the spare ones they give, they are thicker than the stock ones, so 5 heavier options, and the difference is actually significant. Ive tried both sets

I love the mini Roach. It has a very cool spear point blade shape that is pretty robust making it a splendid work companion for light to medium tasks. The scales although being G10 feel cheap(because of the honey comb) but fuck it, everything else is super good. Crisp action, tight detent and a fun figit. Kizer makes rad shit right up there with Civivi if you ask me. This one looks great as well.
@ddyoder2 жыл бұрын
Agree that Kizer is killin’ it in the $60-$120 zone … finding myself carrying them more and more. Fidgety, usable, and less worried about beating them up Would love to see Mini Roach with micarta scales and also more blades in general with their black stonewash which I love

@@jefferys9593 that's my plan for any thumb hole equipped blade that has removable flipper tab. I've found myself moving away from flippers -- much rather prefer thumb hole, or button lock + thumb stud for the sleeker profile these options provide - YMMV

Why do knife companies send out these review samples so far ahead of availability. This is a perfect example of something I would probably have impulse purchased today (if it had been available), but I will forget about it when it is finally available.
@metal_complex2 жыл бұрын
There's no way for anyone to time it perfectly. My reviews aren't meant as a sales pitch for the knife, so timing the release perfectly isn't really the priority. Further more, over time the vast majority of views for this video will come in the future while the knife goes in and out of stock. Just depends when you watch it.
@sethgrandeau92672 жыл бұрын
@@metal_complex My comment is more at the manufacturers. You've always been clear about your objectives with reviews. I just think it would be better for the manufacturers if they send out review copies closer to when the knives are available, particularly for more "standard" models, like the Drop Bear. I've been noticing this, as I'm looking for a reasonably priced, fidgety, button lock or axis lock knife and each one that has excited me was not yet available, when I saw the review.
