It seems as if you’ve never opened a corked bottle where the cork extends above the neck. It’s twist and pull. If you don’t twist first the cork could break.

Always loved this score and this film. That's Gert Frobe (Goldfinger in Goldfinger) as the Dutch sea captain accidentally killed by the little actress I had a crush on when I saw this at 12 in 1965. Anthony Quinn always reminded me of my father.

Despite the characters speaking in a different language, like a silent movie, the meaning of the scene is universally obvious. TRANSLATION: The crew (deeply concerned about the stowaways' welfare) graciously want to thank the mature girl for taking such good care of the children. When the Captain tries to remind them that thumb-sucking leads to dental problems in the future, the young girl (not able to understand Spanish) mistakenly bites what she thinks is a gummy worm being offered to her. (It is dark, remember!) With great compassion, the crew scurries away, heartbroken that their completely good intentions led to their Captain's feelings being hurt along with his thumb. Who need English when a picture is worth a thousand words? P.S. I HATE HAVING TO SIT THROUGH NEARLY FORTY MINUTES OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE BEFORE A MOVIE FINALLY STARTS SPEAKING IN ITS INTENDED SPANISH! (Then it quickly reverts back to a foreign language!!)

If your going to put anyone off a film why not do what they did here. Start it with some absolutely awful music that's out of context to the first scene .Then introduce the films beging with extremely poor special affects,even for it's time complemented by extremely poor acting .I was 30 seconds into this and turned it off .Amazing how crap like this ever made its way past the casting agent . Utter shite !!
