Are the groups who want to preserve it going to pay for the upkeep of the home and property? Are they going to pay the insurance and yearly taxes? I understand why the family member may need to sell it and it's their decision alone.

. No one can blame the heirs for wanting to become wealthy from the sale but you could enrich yourself by driving down Swiss Ave in Dallas to see what preservation actually looks like! Your snarky attitude towards it paints you as being uncultured and uncouth

I live in a city that has a very healthy historic committee and district full of historic homes, including the one I grew up in and my great aunt and uncles, so you don't know what you're talking about regarding me.
