Greed is human nature. Our modern economy is founded on human greed and it's an incredible motivator. The issue is that for finite resources like land, unlike any other thing you can accumulate (like money or material goods) you can't make more of it and thus it's ripe for the situation where people buy the land and then charge people for its use despite doing nothing except being there first to buy the land. To fix this we need the government to impose a land value tax so that they actually use land for useful things instead of collecting rents from people who actually need it.

People from a communist country have bought most of the apartment complexes , houses , and any livable space , using algorithyms and the fact of endless flow of undocumented to pay whatever price americans cant. The major real estate rental companies have rented to undocumented pricing Americans out. This created more revenue for the rental companies to buy more property and fraudulently control rental prices wherever they own multiple properties. We've got three generations living in the same house and my grandma has been getting non stop offers on our house. Like telemarketer levels of harassment trying to buy our house. Thank God both her and my parents understand that no matter what they offer, owning the property is more important and that even then we would likely get more on the market. I've got too many people I know whose parents are selling everything to developers and getting an apartment in Florida to retire too and leaving their kids and grandkids with no possibility to own a home because their Gen x or millennial kids assumed they'd inherit, especially when the parents inherited their own first property.

The new mortgage rates are crazy, add to that the recession and the fact that mortgage guidelines are getting more difficult. Home prices will need to fall by a minimum of 40% (more like 50%) before the market normalizes.If you are in cross roads or need sincere advise on the best moves to take now its best you seek an independent advisor who knows about the financial markets.

It's not just greed; it's the lack of responsibility. Thanks to convoluted legal loopholes, private equity firms have *no liability* when things go wrong with stuff they manage. As such, they have no inclination to treat anyone humanely or with any form of decency, because they won't be held responsible even when people _die_ as a result of their horrible policies. (One of them literally got out of a wrongful death lawsuit by claiming this.) And they've bought all the politicians so thoroughly that this situation isn't changing any time soon.

Person from Germany here who has been paying close attention to America ever since 2016 ... and this is by far the most distraught and dystopic thing I've seen so far. To me it seems like something revolutionary would need to happen. It is good to see that there are still people around who care and try to better things but they seem overpowered and outgunned by money and the established system. It is like America is eating itself up, like a cancer. I would not have survived my illness in the U.S. And now things will become even more cruel and insane than ever before ... too much for me to bare. Watching this tragedy unfold is heartbreaking and ultimately it could mess up Europe in serious ways, too. (It kind of already does ... it is only a matter of how far it will go)

Yeah, me too. And they still vote for Trump and scoff at Sanders ... the american dream has always been a lie but I thought that was very obvious for at least 20 years now. The financial/housing crisis of 2007/8 should have been the final wake up call for EVERYONE. Personally I could see the US eating itself as early as the 90s and that the foundations had been laid with Reagan, ending the gold standard and all of that. Since then it's rampant predatory capitalism which always have multiple losers for a single winner which can't be sustainable in the long run. It's a gigantic pyramid scheme. But they have enough people praising continuos exponential growth and enough people believing that. Most US citizens are fine people at heart, even Trump supporters, but once you leave the lower classes, there just is no shame whatsoever and the system is so unbelievably rigged and rotten ... so much so that the biggest swamp king of them all was able to become president by promising to drain the swamp.

@Puschit1
@Puschit1 17 күн бұрын
@@fjfjfjfjffhdndnrnd2652 It collapsed for the better. One of the coalition partners was a traitor and guess that party won't play any role in the foreseeable future. Unlike the US we have more than 2 parties and it probably just means we'll have the "big coaliton" again where the two major parties (compareable to dems and old school republicans) will go together. And because they aren't as big any more as they were in the past they'll most likely include the environmental party as well, which is good. The "big coalition" usually doesn't get much done but it also doesn't get much worse and right now it's imperative that we don't become more populist and don't move further to the right. So, as long as that coalition doesn't include the AFD (compareable to Trump's maga-republicans) we should be ok. It won't solve the real problems of course but apparently nobody wants that anyway.

I’m talking about tiny, disgusting, poorly built 950 square foot shit boxes in quiet mediocre neighbourhoods. Then you’ve got Better, average sized homes in nicer neighbourhoods that were $300K+ 10 years ago selling for $750k+ now. Wild times.

Home prices will come down eventually, but for now; get your money (as much as you can) out of the housing market and get into the financial markets or gold.

To my own research In USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. The difference is that lobbying generally refers to spending money on the election campaign to promote your preferred candidate, while paying off a politician is a much more direct pay-for-play. In practice, there's no difference. If a handful of wealthy people got you elected, and you want to be elected again, you'll act the same as a politician that's taking bribes from those wealthy people.
@nathanielmohr9622
@nathanielmohr9622 Ай бұрын
Theoretically, the existence of Super PACs is supposed to be a "stabilizing force," since the money flows to the PAC which then finances the campaign of their preferred candidate, but then the PAC just finances the campaign of the politician most aligned with the interests of the biggest political donors anyway. So, again, no real difference.

Politics is just another business here. Big businesses invest in politicians or parties that will give them a return on their money, and that return has to come from somewhere. There's only really 3 places to get that return from: The competition of that business (usually via regulatory capture), the working class (via keeping wages low, leaving exploitative practices legal, etc), and by taking from other countries.

When all of your income goes directly to housing, there’s nothing left over to have a life. They raised the yearly rent another $1,000+ for 2025 and now residents have to pay for garbage, internet, and basic cable which was included in prior years. Also, we are now required to our own yard work, which again was included in prior years. Upsetting to see an 80 year old neighbor on her hands and knees pulling weeds. At the end of the day it's about getting better control over the people who soon won't be able to make any decisions for themselves; the writings on the wall and has been for a long time. Also, think about this; The supreme court just recently ruled that it is legal for government entities ( cities, townships, counties,and states ) to make homelessness illegal activity. What the hell is the mindset of our government that allows a system to make people homeless and then make them criminal for that condition ? Our leaders are all insane and psychopathic fools driving this nation into oblivion.

My 90-year-old mother lives in a manufactured home that she bought 10 years ago. My sister lives with her, and between the two of them they manage well. They have a very nice house. The park they are in is run by a young man who has taken it over from his parents, who ran it for years. The lot rent has gone up over the years, but only in proportion to actual costs rising. The park is very well maintained, they enforce standards to keep it looking good, and she is very happy there. It will be a disaster if one of these private equity firms buys out the lot owner and raises her rent significantly.
