I have been restoring player pianos since 1970. I own forty two players all restored six of them are Steinway Duo-Art reproducing grands. Right now i am restoring a Wurlitzer RJ12 residence player pipe organ which cames with 102 original reproducing player rolls for my house. To say the least, I love player instruments.

Hello! I was listening to this video while dusting the 1924 Fischer Upright Grand Player Piano that was passed down to me and had been originally purchased new by my Great Grandmother. My Mom has owned it for the past 30 or so years and passed it down to me this past christmas as a present and paid to get it delivered to my house. The poor delivery guys were NOT prepared and did NOT know what "Antique Upright Grand Player Piano" would mean for them. 😬 They only sent out three guys to move it and I was so worried someone was going to get seriously injured as they phenagled it up the stairs into my house. This is my first time ever fully opening it to see inside and I am cleaning to prepare for it to get tuned (for the first time since 1994, the year I was born) tomorrow. I LOVE the tone of this piano, and am excited for my husband to stop asking me not to play it since it is too out of tune for him to handle. 😂 The player buts were reworked by my Grandmother in the 70s, but the bellows are cracked now and I likely need a good deal of work to get it fully running. I do have the book "Rebuilding the Player Piano" that my Grandma used and thr help of strangers on the internet, so I will eventually get around to fixing it up at some point. I often listen to videos to pass the time when doing tasks that don't require thinking, and figured I could learn a but by listening to player piano videos jnstead of just a random other topic. Thanks for putting some stuff out there!

I have a 100 year old PA Stark upright player piano. I’ve kept the piano playable, but the player mechanisms (manual bellows pedal powered) no longer works. I’d love to see it refurbished and made functional again, but it’s a ton of work and a lot of expense to have someone else do it, so it’ll probably never get done unless I win the lottery. It is fascinating mechanical tech though.
