I got given one of those PS2 TEST consoles a fair while back. Got it from an uncle who had a friend that worked for Sony in Japan. I will have to drag it out and have a closer look at it, thought it was something someone had customized.

Some absolute class finds/buys in those hauls mate! Like a little kid going through it all...haha. love it! And some very decent profit too...great stuff!. The PS2 is a keeper for sure...and who knows, maybe years down the line could sell it privately to another collector for a nice chunk. Awesome vid as always bud!

you can't sell helmets on eBay as you have no proof it's been safety tested you could put prop but it would be at your own risk

I would like to see if you can get it working, that is a great find. Very jealous. I know a bit about region free on PS2 as I recently bought a Japanese game and NTSC game by accident. Region unlocking on the PS2 is not straight forward. It can be done by Mechapwn which is a soft mod you can install with McBoot. However it doesn't work for all PS2 models. So in conclusion there isn't an easy way to get a multi region PS2 without installing a chip.

Put the sticker over a screw hole, preferably next to a serial number on the item, then make sure to include pictures of it in the listing. If someone claims "its broken" then returns it, if the sticker is tampered with no refund for them! Also it stops people sending back different items to the one they bought.

Yes make a video on the TEST console for sure. It would be great content. Honestly I would sell the TEST console and for that money get a fat PS2 and all the mods for it to run games from a HDD including the HDD and refurb the drive too for the discs to be able to run too. I think it would cost half and with that you would get a far better PS2 capable of running not only PS1 and PS2 but emulations too. The only thing that actually have some value and logic of keeping was the development unit not the testing station. For a random collector let them have it, as a actual user you are better off with what I mentioned above. I dont see too much logic in the legalities since PS1 and PS2 is abandonware for a long time and the so called "remasters" that pop up at random online stores are not worth jack. If Sony wants to be an a- hole about it then they should produce these consoles again so as print the original (unaltered) games too, other then that F- k em ... Even back in a day I had to pirate some games since they were impossible to obtain legally let alone today when they are non-existing in some regions due to collectors keeping their copies and there been super-rare releases too in tiny numbers. Some games keep popping up almost daily like GT4 especially sports games but some you cant find for 20 years or ever also I am not paying 500+ for a game as some tend to go for. Speaking of 500+ I just remembered it now, that is how much a TEST console went for few months back on a local bidding website. I was surprised someone wanted it at all and paid that much considering modding is a common practice since forever here in most of Europe, then realized that it will be probably resold to some collector in the west since they pay far more for such a thing. So yeah I suggest getting rid of it and rather mod a regular console or if you have space where you can safely store it and think these will sell in 10 to 20 years then keep it as a collectible for future sales.

@@GhostPlatHunter With sports games, typically the last produced game on certain console goes for the most. Like Fifa 14, the last FIFA game released on the PS2.. it's worth £40, every other FIFA before that is worth £1-£3.

@@TOMS_TAT Thanks i will give it a try,also the test ps2 varies in prices as there are different models,not looked at mine for a while to check,i also have a white ps1 same size as the grey one it is also some test one.
