Looking awesome congratz tom! Been watching since around 1k mark, its a shame you've outgrown your shed even with the extra changes you've made,. however just shows the growth of your channel and Business! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the place! Alot of work lies ahead but im sure you know that! Good luck!

That's so awesome! Congrats, Tom; you deserve it! How far away is your new storage unit from your shed? If it's not far, you could always work out of your shed but have your future employee work out of the storage unit. Or you could use the bigger storage unit as just that-a storage unit, and your shed as a test/listing unit. For example, you could store your product in your storage unit, go get a box or two, bring it into the shed, test it, list it, and then restore it in the storage unit until it sells. Lots of work ahead for you but I'm excited to see the journey. Please video a lot of it so we can follow along. Oh wow, that outhouse outta be interesting! Cheers, and best of luck!

Having 2 testing stations is an investment/asset, you can always sell one later if needed or you decide to vacate the new space etc. All these reselling businesses are based on the more hours you put in the more you get out so having a space at home ensures you keep the same amount of hours you have been putting in already consistently.
@TOMS_TAT7 күн бұрын
Yea, I would be ideal to have 2 testing stations then i can still work from home in the evenings.

Amazing journey you’re on! Personally I’d have the main operation at your new HQ and just keep a photo/listing bay at the shed.. then you can take stuff over to HQ to store away

Well done Tom - I think this unit will be the start of even bigger and better things for you mate! e.g. staff, more stock, bigger business etc. I would move EVERYTHING up there, and keep home and your shed for personal use. I work from home and find it difficult to switch off (I would probably work 24 hours a day if the Mrs didn't drag me away!). You might even end up MORE productive if work is separated from home life? (mentally and physically). Good luck my friend 👍
@TOMS_TAT7 күн бұрын
Yea, I normally work night and day in the shed and it would be nice to separate work from home.

Tom, this is awesome. We spoke on IG recently about my mates Sega stuff. I would probably invest the extra time and money into a second testing station because it doubles your capacity, affords flexibility of working location, and if you terminate the lease in the future (hopefully not of course) it would make transitioning back to the shed an easier process. Good luck!

Another excellent and fascinating video Tom. The landlord is very lucky to have you. If anyone is going to make that place top notch, it'll be you. Perhaps keep the shed for consoles/testing and games, and the new unit for everything else. Best of luck. (P.S. for the paint: choose an off-white (e.g. magnolia?) rather than pure white, which can make a place feel very cold)
@TOMS_TAT7 күн бұрын

loving the new unit tom for me i would keep the testing station at home. would send anything other than gaming to your new unit than u can still test and list at night . it would free up the space in the shed . than that means if u want a day at home u can and still work so u get the best of both. keep up the great work mate. oh and get your arse back to what not selling i want some bargains lol
@secretcarper86506 күн бұрын
plus if u have a photo both in both places you can still take on a member of staff in the new unit

Use the shed for only video games. So store and test all video game related things in the shed. Everything else at the new location. Also, January is really good and just as good as Q4 so don't put your foot on the breaks until Feb.
@TOMS_TAT7 күн бұрын
Good shout! February it is!

Keep your testing station and cleaning stuff in the shed and just use the new place just for storage? Probably wouldn’t need internet, power or even toilet there then. I know fitting power is deductible from rent but surely it’s an ongoing cost? Looks great anyway, smashing it mate.
@TOMS_TAT7 күн бұрын
Yes I will have to pay the electricity bill when the power is in. But the main goal of the bigger space is to eventually take on a staff member. Something I don't have room for at the moment. My biggest problem is having way too much unlisted stock sitting around as I can't process it quick enough on my own.
@gamingdrof19116 күн бұрын
Hey Tom I would say keep your testing station in you shed and use the shed just for consoles because u have the disk cleaner all setup there all the consoles and cables are managed and use the new unit for everything else that way in the evening u can go to the shed and do any fixing testing cleaning at ur own leisure
@TOMS_TAT6 күн бұрын
Yea i think ill do exactly that. Keep the shed how it is and use it for gaming stuff.

Hi, just a question about your book keeping, I was under the impression that you can't claim expenses on items you don't have receipts for so if II buy from a booty that's basically a loss on the costs, is that not true?
@TOMS_TAT7 күн бұрын
Not true. All items bought for resale can be claimed as an expense. You don't need receipts. Just take pictures of items bought and keep a record of amount spent. The amount spent should match up to cash withdrawals on your bank account.

I would use the new unit as storage, save on conversion costs.
@TOMS_TAT7 күн бұрын
I have thought about that but i didn't want to have to keep driving up there and back all the time. Plus I want the space so i can eventually take on staff.
@brendanbishop36846 күн бұрын
Although vinted has no fees, the amount of views/traffic vs ebay is way less and items fetch much more on ebay and sell faster. Keep the original setup, no point in ripping apart after all that hard work, like others said use it for video games etc and stick the bigger hulk style stuff in the new place.
@keithstaves7 күн бұрын

I'm genuinely intrigued by how all this stuff gets abandoned. This isn't cheap things and it's all been left to be picked up in a house clearance? Was someone just living beyond their means?
@TOMS_TAT4 күн бұрын
People die and then their house needs clearing.
@Retroreplicant4 күн бұрын
@@TOMS_TAT Sure, the stuff you have there looks like a family home though, rather than a single old person. Just intrigued as to the story, not that it's on you to know.
