The pricing is so disappointing. My friends and I are all 90s kids who grew up with the ek9 and the dc2 type r spoon being hero cars. We’re all close to 30 with high paying jobs and none of us are willing to spend 66-70k for a civic. Who is this car for?

I want an boy racer 4 door so I can keep it forever and have kids in the back seat AND drive it to the track, but for that price I could buy an 2018 m3 and have money left over to fix it when it inevitably breaks

My favorite is the Power Folding Mirrors on my EJ1 Civic that I got from Malasya, I have to convert them to LHD so it was a lot of work and painting to get them installed.

Paying $60(+\-) for a civic is nuts. And agree with you on the last 2 generations, especially with their aesthetics. One looks like a stealth fighter, and the other looks like a grocery getter. 😂 PS… Want a J’s racing carbon fiber spoiler for my EK hatch.

I got the hks high-power exhaust on my eg as well. In fact you were the one that sold me on it. I loved the way your car sounded so that was the final push for me. Got a long tube header with it as well. Although I decided to keep the cat on mine for now since I still daily drive the car. Didn't want it to be too obnoxious on the highway LOL.

I'm running 15x7 6ULs and love them! I was on a wait list for them too and was so excited to get them in bronze. Favorite JDM part would have to be the B16A from a real SiR. It's the only thing I let my D16Z6 go for ;)

I love the pricing, want to be the first to own one, pay the JDM tax😄 Just sit back and chill, this isn't Honda's last type R, not by a long shot. Just like people bought the last gen and after that, just chill and wait till the next 2 new gens come out and one will be in a better place as in looking what failed and what needs recals. If one has to have it, I'm not stopping them... I'll just sit back and eyeball these RSX type S and just gran the head off what new K series comes out and bodyslam it in the Type S and im happy. Sure it might need a turbo or a supercharger, but with the money one will be saving, it's not too farfetched to get a reasonable priced installed and tuned.

I got to say I can't choose just 1 JDM part that on my ek as a favorite so I'll list a few of em. 3) my tein flex z coilovers. They are very compliant on the street and they are very good on the track. 2) my Cusco x bride vios 3 it's very comfortable and and very supportive. The seat makes the interior look sick as hell. I also happened to get one of the last few vios 3 seats that where in stock back in 2020, they got discontinued December 2019. Last but not least. 1) my Cusco 4 point roll bar. That took more then half a year to get to the US... I had also ordered extra chromoly tubing directly from Cusco to add an additional harness bar and a diagonal bar into the main hoop of the roll bar. Sadly the original Cusco blue had to be sanded of for the extra tubing to be welded. But I got the whole roll bar painted dc2 type r Milano black! This roll bar is surprisingly lightweight but has stiffened the rear end significantly. I guess if I really had to choose I'd be a little biased towards the roll bar...

Wanted to get a classic honda civic hatchback manual and they weren't avaliable for over a year given what dealers were saying maybe 1/100 or so is how many manuals they are allocating and they aren't sure who is going to be allocates to next sooo yeah, saw a civic si but they wanted 38k so it priced me out by 10k lol. Got a 97 civic ex 5mt instead and am restoring / modifying it instead as a second car

Sticker at $44k msrp already a little high imo compared to prior gen. Sure it’s a nice car. Maybe a $44k car, but not more. I’m such a fan too. Also, right off the bat your gonna have a higher interest rate. Also, if you’re gonna dd it you need to get new rims/tires for all season/winter. Gonna hang onto my 2.0 Accord for a long time at this point.

Yea, the mark up is insane, so I got a 2020 Si instead. The market up even for that was also crazy my area, drove 2 hours to Sturt FL to pick it up and saved like $4kish Edit:: out of all the other cars you compared the Type r to what is the up keep cost ?

Great video.. in California they want 81k-82k for the new ctr 10k min down payment that's just crazy double the price it really sucks that they are doing that us car enthusiasts honda heads would love to get one but with everything going on cost of living going up food etc. For me it's just not a smart move to do even if I had the money or could afford it I still wouldn't pay double msrp. Also that sucks what happen to 949 I always wanted a set of those wheels I guess its over for getting them now

honda needs to say fuck this an go all in , nsx type 4wd system and paddles the lightest possible spec without the fluff of what main stream market buyers would say is needed so something like a from factory race car for the road . Im running a resonator stock header with a step up and no muffler on an ek hatch clean sleeper sound no drone it actually does this weird thing at 6k where the sound of the muffler is less than the motor

The price is just too much even the msrp is a bit up there I know care prices have jumped up but I don’t think this car should fall into this category. As a father of two kids as well if I’m gonna make a impractical car purchase it has to make sense. I just k swapped my eg and that make the car perfect for the street and track. But if I’m looking or have 60k to spend on a car I’m just gonna buy a cayman like you or a Supra. And I’m a HONDA GUY like you. The new designed has grown on me but I’m trapped in the 90’s I want a sporty looking coupe or hatch but the sedan thing I don’t need another family car. Also my hatch makes 230 whp NA so the 300 hp isn’t impressive. I know they always been simple balanced cars but the price tag doesn’t reflect that

It wasn’t supposed to be 70k. It’s supposed to be 43 from Honda. The dealerships are basically scalping because they have an absolute monopoly.
