My journey takes me through Namaqualand, a beautiful region located in the Northern Cape province. I'm enjoying every minute of it, but when you least expect it, misfortune strikes mercilessly and turns your life upside down in a minute.

Its an all to common situation unfortunately but well done offering to help, generally its best not to move people in a major accident

I am a doctor in a small town in Limpopo province RSA. what you went through, is my daily life. This centralized ambulance "service" is really a joke. And now the people who thought out that ridiculous system insist that they can take over all the medical services in the country, private and public, and make a success of it!

Sorry to hear that. The centralized service is a mess and in a situation like this, where minutes are so important when it comes to saving lives, wasting time is certainly a disgrace. I totally understand what you have to go through every day. Thanks for watching

Wow! That was tough to watch but serves as a stark warning to all who drive the roads of Africa. I lived and travelled throughout the continent for over 20 years. Your experience is not uncommon. The accident and injuries are the result of dangerous driving and other safety measures.The lack of emergency services is political: poor training and investment and possibly corruption. This is an excellent series.Stay safe.

@@davidviner5783 Thank you very much. Unfortunately I saw another fatal accident a couple of weeks ago. Careless driving is not unusual and trucks are fully loaded with people who can barely hold on the vehicle. Thank you for watching

Yes, it was a bad moment for me, but I wanted to show what Overlanding is, in a real way. Not only sharing the beautiful landscapes, awesome people and the great experiences that come along when you are driving in Africa, but also the bad times, such as this. Hallo Viajas we followed you from the Northern Cape Kimberly in South Africa and enjoyed it, i do have one problem though sometimes your videos are blurry and your sounding in the bakkie are bad with some kind of a rattling in it but otherwise we enjoyed it very much 👍

Oh dear, how awful. Africa is a tough place, I've seen some tragic accidents too. You do what you can do - and you did your best. That is all you can do. Tough that you cannot talk this through with someone. Interesting the law says you must call an ambulance and cannot remove someone from the scene. Good job you had your videos...

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, it is a tough place, especially when you see people driving by and not stopping to help. But after knowing about that ridiculous law, who can blame them?

It was a hard and difficult situation. You certainly did what you had to do. That must make you feel good. And in fact, laws are often stupid. Even though it was a horrible day, you acted in the right way. All my respect for you.
