My greatest pleasure in my life was to have my little house in the woods, simple with materials found in nature and to be able to live quietly without worries. After several days of rain I will strengthen the insulation of my shelter and improve the functionality of my fireplace. I do the minimum to be able to survive in difficult and extreme conditions.
As you can see I make a small garden I will sow seeds .
This small house is built with natural materials but also with waste that I find in the woods. If you want to survive you have to use all the necessary resources to improve your life. I live in the year 2022 ! It will be necessary to think carefully I am not a primitive man! I am a survivor, And survival can be in any place, In their cities or in nature it is the same thing.
As you can see I am very happy right now!
I let you follow my adventures and in this video and videos that will follow soon.
A lot of adventures and solutions to survive in the woods!
Thank you very much for your comment .
I will try to make a video every week for you to show you my life in the woods.

had to look back to previous videos to see, this roof does not have the clay shingles to help insulate and shed water like the "druid dugout". small as it is, really loved the "Yoda house" because it is so much clay. once warmed it holds and radiates heat for a while I'd think. not criticizing, every build I've seen are both brilliant and instructional!

I am not a big fan of spoilers and would like to skip the short preview that you do at the start of the video. You can just put a list with times like this 1:00 and youtube will do the rest. My only regret in life is that I'm not a man. Make no mistake people , I'm all woman . What I mean is that men have no constraints to pursue this kind of endeavor. As a young girl with my siblings and cousins, we built our own "playhouse" among the thicket of trees, rain & wind proof, walls and roofs(with the rib ) made of painstakingly woven coconut fronds as well as the floors. I envy what you have accomplished here.

I’m so curious, how long can this kind of structure last? Would you ever have to replace the moss if it dies, and does any water leak through the roof when it rains? How well would it keep when it snows? Thanks! And such interesting and beautiful work!
@albertlesbretelles
@albertlesbretelles 2 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing. Regarding the moss on the roof, it might just stay alive if hydrated enough? The one in the back wall, which is "only" pushed there might just die. Maybe it's a temporary solution until he uses clay to isolate the walls.

The moss seems like it would rot the wood quickly due to all the collected moisture.
@SummerDragoness
@SummerDragoness 2 жыл бұрын
@@adamcomerford8502 Sphagnum moss actually absorbs water from it's surroundings, so even if it rains, it will only stay soaked for so long as they dry out fast. I grow my own in a terrarium, and with the right conditions they will stay hydrated. Otherwise they lose water to the air pretty quickly. If anything, they'd soak up whatever moisture is coming from the pine needles/straw beneath them. Not to mention the heat of the dwelling will also help with evaporation. So what happens is, when it rains, sphagnum soaks up the water. When the sphagnum dries out, it stays pretty darn dry until the next rain. Another plus is that the sphagnum moss is less likely to mold or mildew or rot like the pine needles/straw would in the rain, they prefer a very acidic environment to grow. Though the needles are dead, and produce very little acidity, the pine wood still makes that acidity available. When it's too acidic, it prevents MOST molds, mildews, and fungi from growing, which also means a slower rotting process (think bog bodies, if you know what those are. If not, I highly suggest looking it up!).

Looks amazing! I'm a bit worried about all the moist that will stay on the roof after the rain. My main worry is that moss will not let it dry out, which will cause the poles to rot + the additional weight of wet moss pressing on them until they crack. And then all this heavy construction falls on you while you're sleeping inside. While it looks beautiful, I don't think that'd hold for long. But you gave me some good ideas (especially loved the firepit)
