keira riseborough I had the same problem with my horse and it turns out that her head was too low which caused her to be unbalanced hence why she wouldn’t jump properly... So maybe try bringing her head up and sitting the canter till the last few strides and then go into the rising canter. Hope it helps Xxx

Don’t fuss too much on the reins let her work it out for herself. Keep a nice consistent canter but make sure it’s what pace she sets as this is what she feels comfortable jumping at. Ride the canter and help her to be balanced. Putting v poles on aswell will help encourage her to lift up. My mare runs through anything lower than 90 and will only properly jump if it’s bigger maybe try popping them up a bit and don’t anticipate her crashing through them. Hope this helps xx

I'm kind of flabbergasted at the fact that you're jumping this horse when he appears to not be mentally or physically ready. He's counter-bent, he's in a false frame, and stiffens to the bit and the leg and hollows out his back on every approach to the smallest fences, and even poles. This was a mess. He's a very prospective, talented horse, but there's some serious lack of foundation work on him that concerns me.

Bear Creek Sport Horses hmm I’m not really sure where your getting this from. He was a little fresh. But he’s not in a false frame or with counter flexion . He jumps newcomers so definitely both mentally and physically ready. Sorry you feel this way. All the best

Hackett Equine He’s definitely in a false frame. It’s unfortunate that you can’t see this from riding him and watching him on video. just because his neck is rounded doesn’t mean he’s on the bit. Flexion of the poll doesn’t equal being on the bit or in frame. It’s extremely obvious for anyone with solid experience and training to see when a horse is in correct frame or not. The fact that you can not identify the issues in a horse that you’re riding, plus the fact that you’re jumping him and doing grids with him when he’s not done the correct foundation flatwork and you’re not doing any work through the grids that improves any of the existing issues that he has, on top of the fact that you’re attempting to give advice to other riders, is very alarming.

Bear Creek Sport Horses I’m not asking him to be “in frame” have you watched all of my videos? Do you know me or the horse? Do you see me going and commenting on your page or profile regardlesss of whether I have any prior knowledge of what you do or the horses back round? No because I doubt if you saw me at a show or coaching a clinic you would come to me and tell me what your telling me now. The horse has an upright frame and prior to this day hadn’t jumped for a week or two. You can see at the start I infact explain about how fresh he is. He is ridden at elementary dressage and never in more than a snaffle. If you could kindly find something better to do than comment on something that you don’t agree with I would really appreciate it. Hackett Equine Being in a false frame is an issue regardless if you’re asking him to be in a frame or not. If you’re not asking him to be in a correct frame when you’re jumping him, that’s also an issue. If you’re riding correctly, you should always have your horse in a proper frame, whether it be a long frame or a collected frame. And yes, I would walk up to you, because when I see someone who is doing something ignorantly or above their experience level, I let them know what they’re doing wrong. I’ve seen so many people like you getting themselves and their horses seriously injured due to the fact rha they’re undereducated for the level that they’re attempting to ride at. The problem is also that you can’t take criticism from someone who has a lot of experience, especially with training green horses all the way up to Olympic level. If someone with more experience than you is giving you advice, you sure as hell better listen before you get yourself hurt.

You must have far too much time on your hands to be able to go up to every person you don’t 100% agree with at a show. I’m not ignorant I don’t even know where all your anger is coming from.
