Greand at program today Jael. Im donating again today to help with the homestead completion. I live in Arizona US. Our crops are corn and cotton alfalpha and other crops for animals. My personal garden is currently growing a variety of cold weather greens, cilantro rosemary, chives, and other herbs. Also I have mint for tea and salvas that I make myself. I have dates, figs mulberry and citrus tree also. I grew my pineapple plants out of season and they are not doing so well in the cold. For now bye bye.

As regards to your pineapples not doing well out of season, I suggest you try them on a raised bed maybe in sacks as potted plants, but implant pipes in the soil near the roots and keep warm water flowing in the pipes. I guess it could help in winter if the soil is warmed and the plants are indoors....just thinking.

Yes, ndizi is bananas also in Kenya...raw or ripe or even cooked...it is the swahili word for bananas. At the coast we like using coconut milk to make a type of banana called "mkono wa tembo" meaning hand of the elephant or elephant trunk. This we call "ndizi tamu" meaning sweet bananas in Swahili.

There are some people that are slim and do not have the energy to do the work you do on a farm.
