Now I just cover the hot bread with a wet tea towel once it’s out of the oven and the steam makes it super soft. I would like to start freezing the peppers, in fact I bought a pack coz it was super cheap and don’t know what to do with it so now I will make chop and freeze. I will also try making mayonnaise. Hello Refilwe I just wanted to let you know that the title of your video instantly captured my attention. I've been making homemade brown bread since childhood to the point where I've stopped eating pre-packaged bread all together. And as I've gotten older and started to become more health conscious, I wanted to extend the mindset of "homemaking" to other types of food that I regularly eat. The practice of making and consuming food from our local gardens is of paramount importance today then it's ever been when our parents grew up. This is because industrialization is at its peak right now and it's evident in the way that companies blatantly choose to prioritize profit over people. Our well-being will continue to deteriorate until we start having urgency in our health and the environment. Which is why I strongly advocate for communal living and preserving indigenous knowledge and skills. I appreciate you sharing the good message to the world. You have my full support 🙏🏾

This is the first video, the Lord led me to. And it answered so many of my questions and concerns. I love how you teach what home economy is. I've been wondering how does what link to the home and how can I use it, I don't want to loose what I learnt. Secondly I was concerned about how much jam is costly as well as bread but honestly the granola just won me over. As I love granola ❤. I had so much peace watching your video and when I concentrate I honestly sensed the presence of God. I was like Hagar in the desert with my baby but God opened my eyes. You started with something that I love, made something that I am fearful will flop and ended with me gaining hope I can make the strawberry jam. And it's so strange, I kept telling myself I really love strawberry jam but can be costly. You don't understand that I feel like God personalised your videos for me. He is so personal and so international. Can't wait for the mozzarella 😊 video. If you have made it already, please point me towards the right direction.

Was a little sad but I've seen chefs burn food so I gave it another try. Safe to say I'm in love... it tastes so delicious. I was using my price book to record prices. I'm not 100% there yet but I'm better than before. I thank God for leading me to your channel.

Hi Lovely. Just found your channel. I live in the UK but was born in SA. You are inspirational. Thank you for sharing. Homemaking is something dear to my heart. After almost 36yrs a homemaker, I still love it. I do make bread at least once a week. I don't use milk or butter at all. I use just the water and some olive oil after the ingredients have been mixed. So only when kneading. It's still fantastic home baked bread and even healthier. Love the granola. I make a hybrid of British crumble and granola. Always tasty! Over the years, I have never been a recipe puritan. It's best to adapt to your own needs and preferences or you won't be motivated to do it. As long as you stick to the basic rules like with brad, flour, yeast and water and the mechanical rules, it should all be good. LOve experiments. cake flops are never flops. Add ice-cream, custard or cream and its pudding! 😁

Does anyone know of a farmers market in Pretoria?
@tpmash14 күн бұрын
It’s the one in town where all farmers bring produce for the big stores. Cheap. I’m nit sure exactly, it’s very popular.

It's called the Tshwane market, there is one in JHB as well.

Wow different kinda vlog and thank you so much for sharing. I wanted to know more about the bottles you've used to pickle the cucumbers, if you've sterilised them as well. Also if the vinegar mixer is hot like the jam. Re a leboga 🙏🙏🌷❤️🇿🇦💖💞🇿🇦🇿🇦
@refilwe-matshivha2 ай бұрын
Hey Thembi, the bottles I used for the pickles I bought from Checkers. The vinegar mixture needs to be cooled down completely before pouring into the jars, you don't want to scorch your cucumbers. And the bottles I washed in hot soapy water didn't sterilise like the jam jars.

@refilwe-matshivha Thanks for the explanation. There was no explanation on the cucumbers. You'll be surprised how little most of us know about these things. Thanks again, looking forward to your next video.

To save time, can you freeze any of the bread dough ahead of time without compromising the ability of the yeast to effectively rise?? Thanks!
