Hydrogen is a terrible renewable fuel, but it's still better than fossil fuels and has a two niche markets that it actually can be used for: airplanes and boats, for everything else it's terrible. City buses should use supercapacitors since they recharge in seconds, and their tiny energy density doesn't matter since bus have stop every few minutes anyway and can charge while letting on passangers. For cars batteries are way better and cheaper than hydrogen. Hydrogen should only be used for areas where their is no other option.
